Where did you disconnect the line from, the computer, or the router?

Can you ping the router? Have you tried connection another PC/laptop to the same router? Have you tried using a different cable?

Its just not pulling an ip, its really strange... wish I knew more about mac addresses and the likes.

Is the router set to only allow people with specific mac adress to access the internet or is the router acting like a dumb switch where anyone can plug in and get internet. DHCP enabled?

When you reset the router, did you actually unplug the power and plug it back in?
