    Video Card Help

Im not sure if this is in the right area but I do need some help. I am ....well not that great when it comes to cpu knowledge and this is what i'm running.

    Intel core i7 920

    @2.67 hgz Ram 6.00 GB

    ATI Radeon 4350 HD

at leasty thats what it says....I have a watage of about 450

Im currently at mid to low level settings getting 80-90 fps on less cluttered maps when smoke and lots of stuff gets going on well...maybe 70 -60. My monitor is 23" with 1080 p but obviously im not running it and high settings because ill be in the mid 20's with fps.

I was looking at the geforce gtx 460 hoping this would improve the unit dramatically. Again i dont know squat about squat....so any direction would be helpful...pricepoint...would be 150-200. Im going to attempt to install on my own. Im assuming its not that hard.

    thanks in advance
    Jeff

It may be time to invest in a bigger PSU.

you want the PSU upgrade... yea, it is a bit more of an investment but go with a 800-850 watt PSU and you can live off that for quite a while. The PSU is the one thing that I still have from 3 builds ago.

    Re: Video Card Help

PSU is one of the most important things in a custom build besides the mobo imo. I have pretty much the exact same build as u with the gtx460 already installed and a better psu and I never drop below 100. I got my 460 for $90 after instant savings and 60 dollars in mail in rebates.

IF your not going to sli $129 after rebate : EVGA 01G-P3-1366-TR GeForce GTX 460 SE Video Card - 1GB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0, Dual DVI, Mini HDMI 1.4, DirectX 11 at TigerDirect.com

    Item #: N82E16814130565 139.99 after rebates

    AND

    XFX Core Edition PRO850W (P1-850S-NLB9) 850W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active ...
    Item #: N82E16817207011

I agree, although I didn't know that XFX made PSU's.

It looks like a solid PSU, though.
