Hmm... it looks like $80-90 is a fair price on the CPU. Does it come with the stock intel cooler/box?
I don't think I would have any use for it, but I did check Amazon and Ebay completed listings... that really is a fair price for a used E8400. If you need to upgrade or replace your old Core 2 Duo system, the E8400 isn't a bad option, but it really wont be good for playing newer games that take advantage of quad cores and hyper threading.
I used to overclock me E8400 to 4.1 GHz. I believe Hannibal had one... or an E8500, which is pretty much the same thing. They are probably the best dual core CPUs available for the Core 2 Duo series. If you are jumping from an E6600, E6800, or even an E6850, this CPU would likely be a decent upgrade, mainly because of it's ability to overclock.

Hi HeavyG, and yes I did.
I figured I would have a hard time finding this item, but even Google only had two recent+relevant results... I couldn't send a message to the OP without registering, but now that I have it seems he/she hasn't visited the site in a few months. It's a long shot anyway, but who knows!

Hey Mushbert, I found this on eBay:
Mushkin 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 Redline - PC2-8000 (1000mhz) (Model 996593) | eBay
This is the same set that Summon was selling, and it is $67 buy it now. There is also a single 2 GB stick being sold here for $29 buy it now:
Mushkin 2GB (1x2GB) DDR2 Redline - PC2-8000 (1000mhz) (Model 996593) | eBay
This may help you out a bit. Sometimes used items on eBay is the only option when looking for older components. If you really want this memory, I would recommend jumping on the eBay auction before it is sold rather than waiting for Summon. Not that i want to keep Summon from making a buck, but I think it is more important that you get the parts you are looking for.

Re: FS: intel e8400 mushkin ddr2 1000 redline
Hi again. I did come across those listings, however neither sellers will ship to Canada. :\
Additionally, judging from the brief descriptions of "tested and verified working", neither auction appears to be the original owner... I'd honestly be more comfortable buying them from someone with a veteran profile on a gaming site - who knows their history, extent of overclocking, etc. Thanks for the thoughtful tip though.
