Final breaking down.. New computer idea

So after nearly 7 YEARS of playing on this same old thing (which has run great by the way for only $700) I am going to build a new toy. I want to make something that should be fairly decent for a while as my previous one was. Leave a little room for an additional part or two in the future yet not hit a $3000 dollar machine. These are my ideas so far. I know other things need to be added like cables, etc, but not sure what to get in that department yet. So here is the first stage of is this right.

Man I feel like there are more new computer posts than normal lately. It also makes me quite jealous.

Lol yeah, I built mine last month. It's that time of year. Summer heat stressing components, Xmas shopping a ways off. And I was personally impressed with how inexpensive it's getting.

I'm actually using that ram and that heat sink. Ram is awesome.

I'm currently running these temps with that heat sink.

    Edit: Intel Core i7-2600K

It's a good really good heat sink but not the best. Also the main reason I bought this one and not some $80 one, is the size. Some of the better heatsinks are so big they will block some of your ram slots depending on your mobo. Also some weigh over 2lbs and have to mounted with a bracket behind the motherboard. This one is a very easy to install and its also really quite.

See if you have a Microcenter or a Fry's near you. I got the same RAM you're looking at (running great so far) for $70 instead of $105.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

If you have the space in your case, I really recommend the Corsair H100. Very Easy to setup, and it doesn't block any RAM slots. I'll be using it until when I do a full water cooling system.

I also use the p8z68 v pro and I'm extremely happy with it. come up with another $250 and make an intel i7 machine?
