    Microcenter deal

For those of you who have access to a Microcenter... they're running a pretty hot deal right now. If you buy an Intel i7-2600k processor (for $279.99, cheaper than Newegg) and a Z68 motherboard, they'll give you $80 off the motherboard.

    Re: Microcenter deal

Nope. i7-2600k and Z68 is the deal.

Although really... the savings you get on the mobo, plus the savings on the i7-2600k beyond what Newegg offers makes it almost comparable.

    From Newegg:
    i5-2500k - $209.99
    Cheapest P67 motherboard $90

    From Microcenter:
    i7-2600k - $279.99
Cheapest Z68 motherboard $20 (after mail in rebate)

How long does it last and do I have to buy the board in store also?

    Re: Microcenter deal

those are all in store I've bought from them in the past... it's worth it in most cases to shop there for the CPU at least, but this deal is great.. heh if you don't mind spending the bucks, check out gigabytes g1 sniper2 rev1.0 for the 2600.. more expensive but sweet options

The CPU is usually $279.99, but if you want the extra $80 off, yes, you have to buy the board in store.
