Demon's new rig advice thread.
I will be getting a whole new setup in a few months or sooner so I am starting to do a little research on what I want. I don't have a big budget maybe a grand or less. I don't need a large screen, I'm going to keep the one I have and get a standard sized screen for this computer as it gets moved into the study for the family. I could build one, but is it really cheaper? having to buy all the software and what not I would think it would be the same as buying one from a company. I don't have any specific goal on what I want my new computer to have yet but my motivation is that my 5 year old computer is taking 30 minutes to reboot, 20 to load a BF2 map, even though I get 100 FPS now. The cpu and XP isn't cut out for BF3, BC2 or any new games for that matter. So if you know of something I should take a look at please shoot me a link on here. All the help is appreciated. Anything you are satisfied with, I'm sure will be good for me.

The link below is about 6 months old, so prices may have changed a bit, but this is a good start. You might need to adjust it a bit to cover your OS and monitor.

I wouldn't use them. If you're talking about the ones advertized on TV. They probably install more dangerous stuff, that what they claim to remove.

That's why you do a backup, before you reformat.
