After taking a several month hiatus from the game and community iI am back and browsing, and what I have to say is.....
Lardcake212, I have just finished parts 1 through 12 of the redux, AMAZING WORK!!!!! Certainly continue this, much better than the original!!!!!
My only critisism is that I prefer the idea of a Zoey/ Francis relationship over Zoey/ Louis, for some reason I find the Zoey/ Francis relationship more believable.
The one other thing is that Crash Course is coming out in September, and it bridges te gap between No Mercy and Death Toll.

P.S. We all know in reality it is Zoey/ Bill. ^_^

Apparently, I last visited the forums on September 13th. That's over a month ago, and in case you hadn't been checking, I haven't updated the rewrite of L4D: Origins for a looooooong time.
Mostly, it's the whole school thing. I'm in my sophomore year of college right now, with a new major, living in an apartment (much better than that dorm shit), receiving monthly DOD stipends at the American taxpayer's expense, and in general, kicking the shit out of classes.
All that comes at the expense of having less writing time, and on a whim, I decided to revisit the forums for nostalgia's sake, as well as the rewrite. It's interesting to look back, even if it has only been a month and a half or so. Actually, more like three. The rewrite was last updated August 3rd.
It would seem that I've abandoned the project, and that's not entirely untrue. I've been focusing a lot more on school, and this November (which means in 4 days) I intend to do Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month). That's a challenge to write a 50,000 word novel (and that means new IP, none of this nooby fan fiction stuff) in 30 days. I've participated 4 years in a row, and have completed the challenge 3 times. I fully intend to do so again in 2009.
Mostly, I want to lay this project to rest and just move on, but a part of me yearns to continue the rewrite, even on the eve (figuratively) of the release of L4D2. No, I will not write a L4D2 fan fiction. Regular L4D was hard enough. I sometimes wonder what madness drove me to start one in the first place.
So, back to the point - what's the community input? Should I continue the project, or, ah, leave it for dead?
Best regards,
Lardcake

I can't believe I didn't notice this thread before. Definitely quality reading. I've only read up to Francis' introduction, and I must say, I always hated him. He seems like a real prick, one who acts like a hard guy just to chicken out when someone challenges him. After reading that, I felt a bit sorry for him. Can't wait to read the rest. It brings me joy to think there are 6 more pages of this waiting for me.

LardCake,
I just went to check for updates, as I try to do as often as possible, and I found this.
L4D: Origins Chapter 13: ALERT: Lardcake is back, needs input, a Left 4 Dead fanfic - FanFiction.Net
I personally would love to see this stort continued, I understand you have real life responsibilities, and thats a good thing. You sure do sound busy, but please don't let this come to an end, since the last update I have re-read it twice I like it that much.
Don't stop all together perhaps just update once every two to three weeks or something. Dont leave it to die.
