Spinning around and around problem

I have this problem where when I enter Left 4 Dead I am automatically started pointing up and spinning in circles.

I have unplugged all input devices before starting, minus my mouse. I have tried a new mouse. I have done system restore, deleted local content and redownloaded. I have stopped Steam from synchronizing my controls with L4D that way it is not a control problem issue.

Any ideas?

this is a minor glitch I've seen on other games (occasionally the mouse spits out crap) and you're suddenly spinning in place. I'm thinking it's the same with your mouse as well. I am usually able to fix mine by a wigle of the mouse but if yours is happening from start up then maybe unplugging and replugging the mouse may help.

As I said in my original post. I have tried an entirely different mouse, and actually, I have wiggled the mouse a bit.

So I don't think it's the mouse.
