A New Special Infected?
STEAM and the makers in L4D are thinking of introducing a new special infected into the game along with game modes. I made this because i was bored and i feel like other people's ideas would entertain me. This is the format for infected ideas

This doesn't even have to be a new infected, maybe just an addition to the smoke since it kinda fits that character. But it might overpower the smoker as a SI so a new infected might be necessary. But my idea is to have a "Gasser" or to have the smoke have a noxious effect added to the smoke that comes out when he is killed. The purpose of this would be to make survivors move away from the gas. If they are in a corner and get gassed they would have to move away or take some DPS while breathing the gas.

a great idea! I think that the SMoker gas should have a damage affect like this: it weakens gun damage and increases infected damage. Smoke is a HUGE disadvantage to the smoker when they are being serched for. The green puke-like smoke is a dead giveaway to the smoker's position.

Name: Mangler
Appearance: Dressed like an army soldier, mouth full of razor-sharp fangs
Special Ability: Bite -- on using it, the Mangler grabs and bites a survivor on the neck, giving a few seconds for survivors to shoot (or melee) it off. If the Mangler is able to bite, it does little (5-10) damage, but causes survivor's health to turn to temporary health, as the character is bleeding out. These effects can be countered by a Medpack.
Health: 100
# on Team: Either 1 or only occurring randomly like the Tank (dependent on how powerful this character is determined to be during testing).
or, something the same as above, only instead of causing bleed damage, it poisons, and causes temp hit points that can only be fixed by taking pills (i.e. penicillin).
