Should I be getting lag? (framerate issues)
AMD athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUS)
3328MB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT 1024.0 MB
Not sure if you need anything else to be able to help me, the games recommended settings puts everything on high or w/e but on the opening cutscenes I get a stutter I also get random stutters during the game - even when nothing is happening no mass zombies ect. so I can't quite put my finger on it. I also stutter when I hunter jumps on me.
Basically - Any ideas why?
I lowered the settings and it seemed to be fine - but it should be fine on high settings too. I exceed the recommended settings required. any help/input would be great
PS: First post! nice to meet you all, to meet you all nice!

Welcome to the forums!
What FPS are you getting? You should be more than fine with your hardware. Check it in a single player match. If your FPS is good (at least above 40) then it's probably your internet connection or the server you’re connecting too. We have all had slight lag. It all depends on the quality of the server and its location[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Welcome to the forums.
Yeah I don't see why you are getting fps lag that should be more than enough to run the game on high. Try simple things like defragging stuttering a lot of the time can be attributed to constantly accessing the disk it's installed on.
Another suggestion is check the steam forums they probably have it there in some form or another.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Hmm, just installed service pack 3 for windows, tried the game again - full settings and it had one little stutter and now it's perfect.
frame rate is a solid 70fps sometimes going up to 100fps for alittle while when not alot is happening.
EDIT: just tried it again had a major stutter on the opening cutscene (no mercy chapter 1, with the helicopter)
Can't be a faulty disk because I downloaded it from steam about 2 hours or so ago! so that can't be the issue, going to try some more things and see what happens, any other suggestions? It's fine to play so I'll still be kicking some zombie ass! but It would be interesting to find out what's causing the stutter

Yup Turning off the multicore processor option did the trick, I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place! multicore systems seem to be causing me alot of problems atm in regards to games! Cheers for all the input guys!
PS: this isn't on topic, but are there any servers which are english based? because I'm finding it alittle hard trying to tell my team to "run like hell!" in russian
PPS: also is the server browser window supposed to not find games on the interent tab? because I have no problem finding games on a custom one but nothing on the internet one?!? - this isn't really all that important, the more I post here the more people will relise that Depressive = WALL OF TEXT

as of now when you open the server browser you can only get anything in custom.
If you have probs finding english speaking people add me if you want, I play alot of friends games so there for you could eventually add alot of good people.
My time is limited to my work and wife, but I usually play about 2-3 times per week after 10PM ET for the most part. Some times in after noon if I don't have to work a double.
