    Talking graphics card help

hi i just bought l4d and i realized my graphics card is too weak, i found this really cheap card that i believes is better than my NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200,

    mwave.com: MSI N8400GS-TD256 geforce 8400 gs 256mb gddr2 pci-e 2.0 x16 hdcp ready low profile ready video card (retail)

but i want to know will it work well with left 4 dead? and if anyone can go a little farther than that will it also work with lost planet colonies?

It should work with L4D as long as you don't try to crank the graphics way up. I don't know anything about lost planet.

There are a few benchmarks sites on the web where you can compare performance. Generally, the better the benchmark score, the better the card.

As always, buy the absolute BEST card you can afford, otherwise you will just be upgrading again soon anyway.

I agree. Be sure to buy the best you can get so you won't have to upgrade again and spend more money.

An 8600 would do fine, I have a 8800GTS that runs L4D smoothly, and runs Lost Planet with an average of 30-40fps in DX10 mode (8x AA, 8x AF, 1440x900, very high texture settings, lots of eye candy).

You can also try going on a SLI Configuration (multi GPUs), which can drastically improve performance. Two heads are better than one and so are graphics cards.
