Left 4 Dead 2 = Left 4 Dead Expansion Pack?

Ive Been Hearing Alot About Valve Turning Left 4 dead 2 Into a L4d Expansion pack

supposedly valve stated they would NOT forget about L4D and they'd continue with updates and DLC, but fans are in an uproar because the only DLC thus far was the survival pack, and there already announcing a sequel which is leading people to believe this will be a expansion back because there arent that many changes, a few new infected, a few new weapons, and 4 new characters isnt worth paying $60.00 USD for is it? also, on a side note

When you go to xbox live market place, and go to Left 4 Dead look at the images it shows Francis (the original version i guess) doesnt he look like jack black lol

Its going to be an actual sequel, although, like u sed, the game seems to contain expansion material.. i think its just hope tht itll be a sequel...and i havent seen the pic

Yes, but in comparison to the Full GTAIV is Lost and Damned bigger than the original game. Of course not. Left 4 Dead 2 is bigger, grander, more complex and more awesome than Left 4 Dead, and that's supposed to be an expansion pack? It's a totally new game.

And no, the old francis looks nothing like Jack Black, he has shortish hair and francis has masses of hair.

Oh god. PLEASE not this again. I don't think I can handle it. I'm only just out of therapy after the last round of arguing and back-and-forth over this.

Bottom line:
Like it or not, Left 4 Dead 2 is shipping as a standalone game, most likely at full retail price. Those that really have a massive issue with it are welcome not to buy it, but don't give a) Valve a hard time for it, as just about every other developer has been shipping yearly sequels for years or B) the L4D fans a hard time about it - yes, ideally we'd maybe have liked it to have been a little longer between the games, but what's done is done, and L4D2 looks awesome, which is what counts.

Threadstarter - welcome to the forums by the way - a lot of this topic has been covered (at great length and with a lot of pointless arguing to boot) in the L4D2 Discussion forum. Have a nose round there, as most people who have/had an opinion have probably made it in there. In particular the 'boycott discussion thread'.

Why do these boycotting types seem to think we care about there opinion. but still this only serves to steel my resolve in adding to the pre-orders which are in the millions right now. Thanks to all that wonderful publicity those steam groups have been brewing. thanks for all the mindless ill informed ranting
