I purchased Crash Course via Xbox.com.

I didn't have XBL at my house, so I just trekked over to my friend shouse with my HDD and controller, and downloaded it there.

Thing is, when I got home, I didn't have Crash Course. I still don't have any type of internet at my homestead, though I will later, but this is mindboggling. I thought I'd be able to play CC if I downloaded it to my HDD.

you should be able to redownload it onto your xbox. Recover your gamertag onto your xbox, then once you get online again you SHOULD be able to download it again. I did this with portal [ the arcade game ]
Youre going to have to wait til tonight/whenever you get your internet back & download it via xbl marketplace.

And thanks! I was nervous about this, and my friend said I had to do somethign with license switching, which confused me and made me thinkin the process of retrieving Crash Course would be agonizing.

Umm I'm not sure if it's the same dealio with add ons but with arcade games you need to actually download it to the xbox you're going to be playing it on.
Because it saves information to the xbox itself and not just the HDD

I downloaded portal on two xboxs and only paid for it once...As long as you downloaded it to YOUR account/gamertag, you should be able to get it again.
xbox.com keeps a record of all your marketplace info & whatnot
[along with game status', levels ... &tc...]
