    "Day Break" (Custom Campaign)

    I recently released a beta for my first campaign, Day Break, which is currently a work in progress.

    After seeking refuge in the "Day Break Hotel & Suites" in San Fransisco, the survivors find out that the city is going to be bombed. The first level, The Hotel, begins at the Day Break Hotel and works its way through the streets to the Palace of Fine Arts Theater, next to the famous Exploratorium. The next level, The Coastline, begins at this theater. The survivors then make they're way North along the streets until they reach the coast, where they travel along until they reach the Fort Point, just below the Golden Gate Bridge, which is where the next level, The Bridge, begins. The survivors make their way onto the bridge, and across to where a large cruise ship has crashed into the bridge. After leaving the cruise ship, in the fourth level, The Reserve, the survivors make their way back onto the bridge, and into the Nation Reserve on the other side, where they take a brief refuge in a small cabin, before going to Rescue in the fifth level a short distance away.

    One of the features this campaign will include is changing time of day, and weather. The campaign will begin in the early morning, then transition into the sunny afternoon, and then by the time they reach the bridge in the afternoon, fog will present as they make they're way across the bridge. By the time they make it to the other side, night will have fallen.

    Currently, the layout of the first level is complete and playable as a beta which is available here:

    Screens of the first level are available there. I'll be adding a 3D Skybox in the future.

    I am currently working on the second level, the Coastline. Here's some screens so you can see some of the progress I've made on the second level:




    (Ignore the purple water, I'll be adding cubemaps)

    Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions about the map here. I will continue to work on any bugs/optimization with the first level as well, so comments from beta testers on what could be improved would be much appreciated.

    There should be zombies dead around and blood, looks kinda empty, only a city with lots of cars in it, try to polish a bit

    For the second level, I'm only currently working on the layout, I haven't added zombie spawns yet or dead bodies.

    It sounds like a mixture of "Dead Center" and "The Parish" with a few original things in it. It overall sounds good to me.

    I was actually quite annoyed by the fact that after I had planned all these original things to do, like having the hotel to start with, and then the bridge to end with, and have it during the day time, and then l4d2 comes out and does all those things twice over...
