Pistol when incapped.
Guys, is this seriously something to complain about? Its not like you dont get your melee weapon back when your picked up, but if you want to try to swing a guitar when on your back you be my guest. Its not an issue that you get a lucky break to get a pistol to shoot the zombies off, cause if Valve was mean, they wouldnt give you anything SINCE you have a melee weapon, so why dont you guys just get happy that you can still defend yourself while on your back.

I think this is something very worth complaining about.
if its not changed in the finished game i will be a tad annoyed.
My Thoughts: It takes away Realism from the game, like it makes no sense, how do you pull a pistol from nowhere? Valve should have the downed person holding there melee weapon, letting you only hit nearby infected. it just makes sense.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

if you could drop a melee weapon at any time I would believe that, but once you have a melee weapon you dont drop it tll you pick something else up.
and if you pick up a regular pistol after you pick up a melee weapon you only have one pistol, if what you say is true, you would get dual pistols.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Each survivor wears a holster on their hip which houses the pistol when you're using a melee weapon. What really doesn't make sense is why does a pistol drop on the ground when you pick up a melee weapon, and why does that pistol look different than the pistol you originally had. For instance, all survivors have that same pistol in their right hand. When you pick up the dualie, the left hand gun is different. When you pick up the melee weapon while holding only one pistol, you drop a pistol but also holster a pistol? And somehow this pistol splits into two, one for your holster, and another that looks different when someone picks it up to dual wield.

The later parts of your paragraph starts to move towards the Twilight Zone.
And as for the second pistol being different, its because in L4D1 when you pick up a second pistol, it'll have a under barrel flashlight but you only turn on one.
The different second pistol doesn't have a under barrel flashlight so you are stuck with using only one beam.
Logical errors/spoofs FTW!
A simple fix would be to merely not drop the pistol(s) when picking up a melee weapon.
And swinging a melee weapon from the ground on your back would be retarded.
Not to mention finding the strength to swing hardly at all with the power to kill or decapitate.
