Thread: How to add L4D custom maps

Hey please tell me how to add maps in my L4D game,i have download 2 maps but i can't play it...Please tell me 'STEP BY STEP" and i wan't it to really work...Do you need Steam?...Please ASAP

Depends on whether or not the maps are .VPK's or .BSP's/.NAV's.

If they're .vpk, take the file and place in right in the following directory:

Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/left 4 dead/left4dead/addons

(Alternatively, just double-click the .vpk, and it'll do it automatically.) Then open L4D, select Campaign/Survival/Versus/whatever, and choose your map from the "Add-on Campaign" option.

If they're .bsp and .nav, take both and put them in this directory:

Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/left 4 dead/left4dead/maps

Then type map [mapname] in console to bring up the map.
