    hard rain sound

    i have problem with the sound of the rain on "hard rain"
    i can hear everything, lightnings...walking on water.... walking into the plants....everything! except the rain! i can't hear the ****ing rain :P
    so anyone can advise and help me what to do?
    how to make this rain... noisy?

    Assuming you have your sound settings set correctly, I would do a Verify Integrity of your game files in Steam to make sure nothing is corrupted.

    my Specs:

    Processor: 2.8 gHz Dual core
    RAM: 2GB XP
    Video Card and Pixel Shader 2.0: Geforce GT 220 (new)
    Sound Card: how i can know my DirectX 9.0c is compatible?

    DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

    ok now i updated my DirectX 9.0c from the disk i get from nvidia geforce gt 220.
    and i updated my audio drivers...
    and still no rain sound =\
    plz help

    also can you try rebuilding your sound cache by going into the L4D2 Developer Console and typing snd_rebuildaudiocache

    (should get to 100%.. sometimes the screen doesn't close after a couple of minutes, just close it and try again)

    the rebuilding doesn't work...
    its loading too much time... and keep loading and loading when it is 100%
    i tried 5 times..

    more ideas?
    iggy plz help me...

    yes.
    it found 3 fail files, so i run it again, and i get this massage:
    "all file successfully validated"
    and still not working...

    Well, you can try:

    Deleting your sound device and reinstall with the latest drivers.

    Delete the local content and reinstall the game.

    Rename your CONFIG.CFG file to CONFIG.OLD and let it recreate itself. This will set your settings back to default.

    it is gonna delete my achivments?

    ok options 1 and 3 you gave me, are not helped to the problem =\
    i just found.. i can't hear "far lightning" also... wtf? =|
