I had to edit my post because they all infact DID record new lines, so the death thing might be a bullshitty rumor.

ahhh, ok thanks for the edit, but still the DLC for L4D1 is still coming out which means they would need to have more lines, as it explains how they get there.

Jim French is still alive, and I really doubt Valve would kill off one of the great (if relatively new) game characters just because they can't get the voice actor.

I'm speculating that killing by killing off an original there will no longer be DLC for L4D1. Unless the hop in a vehicle and the vehicles driver joins the cast. I'm still hoping they add keith to the original line up

Well apparently its true that one will die, according to Kotaku. One of the l4d2 characters has to "make the ultimate sacrifice" by killing a l4d1 character.

It just occurred to me, The Character could die in the middle of the DLC, which means the Character who could could still meet them, Which means it could be Francis.
With the tagline: Nobody survive forever, it seems that way.

If he does change to an infected (which is what the Kotaku post sorta stated)

Well, Bill is the most nobel of the bunch and like they say the Captain always goes down with the ship. It seems like something Bill would do, but I could also see Francis getting wiped out, as an attempt to show some nobility since he is the rudest of the bunch, kind of like a final, warmed hearted-making up for everything I did wrong, goodbye.

Silver you're right and I think the fans would be ok with Francis dying. Remind Bill wipes the blood and guts on him in the intro. Perhaps he isn't immune?
