I just can't stop using those fine melee weapons! They are so much fun to use!!

in the first game I would go the entire way using only double pistols, but as for the second game, I rather use weapons like the fire axe. The pistols in the second one (excluding magnum) are just to weak for anything big or tough. The magnum is strong, but leaves much for me to desire, if it could be dual wielded, I would probably use it more though.

Depends on the Campaign. For example, I keep my double pistols/Desert Eagle in Swamp Fever, The Parish, and Hard Rain but I use melee in Dark Carnival and Dead Center because thats where they get up in your face. Like running up the coaster, you gotta clear ahead and behind you and then there is a ridiculous amount waiting for you after the shooting gallery where Gnome Chopski is. The Mall has a fuckload of zombies so I carry one because I'm often running and if they get in my face, I'll whack the shit out of em'.

You can't. You have to have the D. Eagle as your secondary to use it when you are incapped. If you had a melee weapon you pull out a sig sauer.

They made the pistols in L4D2 too weak. L4D1's pistols were great. But if they had powerful pistols and melee weapons it would be unbalanced.
They still need better pistols though, stronger than they are now...

it varys. if im able to get a good melee weapon such as an axe, machete, ect. i will usually grab it over single or double pistols. especially when there is a gauntlet cresendo close by. other than that, i will almost always grab a deagle over any other melee weapon except for the chain saw

Depends on my playin style and which campaign i am on. I also try to balance weapons I.e. If I have a fast firing weapon ill often go for a melée if I have somehing slow firing I will take pstols
