The annoying "disconnect" thread

I'm seriously at the point where i'm about to give up playing L4d2 cuz of the stupid ass disconnects. I can't even count how many times we play hard for long periods of time to get to the end of a level and it disconnects us. And to make it worse, it always seems to disconnect when we finally make progress or about to beat the level. Why does it even say "retrying connection to server" when it never will reconnect?

Is it just me having this issue or is everyone on the 360 affected? To find out, I am starting this thread for ya guys on the 360 to post up your disconnected sessions. What were you playing and for how long?

I got disconnected at least once the past three days but I'll start it off with today's !#!$ disconnect:

The Parish
Advance
2 players/2 bots
almost 2 hours
struggling to get through part 3 and got disconnected when we were about to complete it.

Happens every single time I play with you, especially Dark Carnival on Expert mode.

But it happens other times too.

Yeah it does it whether i'm lobby leader or just joining another game. If it were my connection, wouldn't it just disconnect me instead of everyone in the game?

I can't get my expert achievements cuz of it. I'm still at 3 of 5 and was never able to complete the two on expert difficulty in regular campaign. I did manage to beat the campaigns on the mutation but it never registered.

I never had this issue prior to The Passing download. In fact I was hardly ever disconnected from a game before that. All my other games play fine and I don't get disconnected from them.

As weird as this sounds, it sometimes seems like I'm getting disconnected ON PURPOSE, although that happening is pretty much not possible. Why can't I beat Dark Carnival or Swamp Fever on expert? Why does it disconnect me near the end every single time? Strange....

Well, I can ask my friend to help us beat both of those, but I don't know him that well, and he's not a member of this forum, and it's his friend that we want.

But the disconnection issue is a problem and I hate it.

Silly question but do you use the local server? That solved some of disconnection and lag issues for me and my friend when we were going for the expert achievement.

I get it sometimes too its annoyin i had a good random team aswell was on the final part in dark carnival then it disconnected it took 4 hours of my time

Happens to me all the time in L4D1. it's not always just me that gets disconnected either. I also can't join any of Crimson's games because I get booted about 3 or 4 minutes later. I don't think I've ever seen the problem on L4D2, so it's got to do with L4D1's servers. Are Valve even maintaining them anymore?

That's strange cuz I never get disco'd in l4d1, only in l4d2.

Maybe the infection spread through Valve's headquarters and they are all walking around dead, bumping into the servers causing all the malfunctions/disconnects.
