Do you think they made it?

To safety after being picked up at the end of the Parish?

Or do you reckon we'll be seeing more of them in subsequent campaigns/games?

My idea of safe isn't in the hands of the military. Quarantined and most likely executed on a whim especially after the L4D1 survivors already went through it all. The military has more intelligence on the infection that I had thought which is bad news for L4D2 survivors.
But then you gotta wonder why the military would've even bothered waiting for them on the bridge.

Unless, they figured that if the group could have survived that long, they could end up finding surviving settlements on their own and unintentionally infect them, and as such the military figures the best way to get rid of them is to do it themselves... if that makes sense, that is.

I'd hate to think of something bad happening to them, but... You never know.

Obviously the helicopter was prepared to transport Carriers, as they claim it over the radio, so the pilot is probably not going to get infected and crash. Also, one of the people over the radio states "God be with you" before the survivors lower the bridge, so there's obvious concern for their safety.

More than likely the pilot didn't get infected. You can hear the guys on the radio asking if the helicopter is equipped for carriers, and they say yes, so they would not have caught the infection.

I'm curious as to what happened to the L4D2 survivors. Maybe another 100+ page comic book? Or a DLC that would come bundled with Death Toll .

I may be echoing somebody here, but I'll still say it. I don't think we've seen the last of the L4D2 team.

I think the military will treat them like they did with the old survivors, more like prisoners than refugees. They may have gotten some valuable information from the infected from the original four so they'll probably do the same for the others. But in the end it's the same. They're carriers that are unwittingly transmitting the disease. Containment protocols are always above compassion.

I think the game is hinting at the fact that the LFD2 survivors are going to be used to try to develop a vaccine. Think about it. If you could figure out why these 4 people are immune, you could possibly figure out a way to make others immune.

Remember, they are carrying the infection, even though they are immune, so there could be the whole Calamity Jane thing. By this I mean they spread the infection wherever they go, instead of curing it.

Of course it's really up to Valve so who knows.
