Thread: Looking for Survivor mode tips

Hey,

I took a break from Zombie killing for about three months. I went cold turkey. Mostly because I got hooked on DC Universe Online, but also I started to grow tired of the L4D1 maps getting butchered in their L4D2 form. I detest onslaughts in all forms.

Anyway, I've been getting the itch to play again. So I looked up my achievements. I'd really like to get "Legendary Survivor" by getting gold on all the survivor maps. But I'm having trouble with the following maps and I was looking for some advice :

Generator Room
The Hospital
The Terminal
The Warehouse
The Church
Gas Station
The Runway

At this point I'm willing to do glitches just to get gold, but I'm not interested in using cheat codes or spawning stuff to block.

I'm aware of the glitch in The Terminal, I just haven't had enough buddies on line yet to try it out. So I'm okay on that one. Are there any other glitches or tips to get past any of the other maps I've listed above? I've also tried the Runway glitch where you get on top of the wing, but that's only gotten me to a silver medal when playing solo.

I saw a YouTube video of some guy getting gold on Church while playing solo. No glitching. Amazing stuff. I've tried his techniques, but can't even get to silver.

Are there any tried and true camping spots for these maps? Even if it's just a corner than you found to be lucky for you to camp from. I know a lot of people like camping in the corner near the van in Terminal. I've had some good runs from there, but still my best time is only 8.04.

Generator Room- Stayed underground in both games(area with the pillars).
L4D1- ten minutes with three people
L4D2- thirteen and a half alone.

Hospital- Stay in the room with the beds at the end of the hallway. You'll have to shove the doors open first.
L4D1- I've survived ten minutes countless times on this map.

Terminal- Don't think I've gotten ten minutes, but I made it quite far in the bathroom with two people.

Warehouse- You could stay in the dark room opposite the alarm area. I think that's where I got my gold.

Church- Tryed staying in the Church, only got about six and a half minutes with two people.

Gas Station- Got gold staying on the roof above the lift after playing many times.
You could stay in the storage room opposite the lift after you go up.

Runway- Either the corner or by the nose of the plane. I've never gotten ten minutes though.

If you want to do terminal without doing the glitch just camp where the van is suppose to bust down the fence. If your going solo be Francis and use the assault rifle so that you have a majority of your team using the assault rifle which is what seems to work best here. If you have friends tell them to use the assault rifle. It's a good spot because its close to the ammo and seemed to just work, we killed most tanks before they could reach us. smokers can be trouble though.

Hmmm.... Do you mean that little room that's up the stairs right above the door that triggers the alarm?

It's super easy with four people. Half decent and four shotguns, you'll have no problem.

That's a decent spot too, but I was referring to the room on the bottom floor under the Safe Room. You can get there before you activate the alarm.

The "dark corner" is good for holding up, I'd say better than the plane nose.

The only thing about the corner is that you are far away from the supplies. And if you've dealt with AI, you know how hard it can be to get supplies and make it back safely.

The area by the nose, while harder to defend, is very close to the supplies and they can be picked up more easily.

I've held up in the open area by the nose and also around the luggage pile.

Alas, that room is blocked off in survival mode. Works great in campaign, though.



Also, the small room above the alarmed door is also blocked off in survival mode. Didn't take a screenshot of that one, though.

LOL that sucks. I don't think they blocked it on the Xbox. They haven't done anything since the release of L4D2.

How do they expect you to hold up?

If it's not blocked, I would say activate the alarm and run to the left into one of the rooms on the side. Either upstairs or downstairs.

If it is blocked, I guess you'd have to stay in the alarm room. It's a bit crowded with two entrances, so, good luck.
