I dont understand

I see people using the m4 religiously.....but I never could figure out why.... I tried using it, and even put stopping power on, and I still can't kill anyone in under 4-5 hits (sometimes it takes me 6). I am not shooting them through any barriers, and I usually hit people from mid range. I do however die from m4 carriers in 2-3 hits....non headshots....same with the p90, It takes me 5-6 direct hits to kill someone but I get pwnt with just 3-4 shots and sometimes even 2. None of the above mentioned incidents include headshots. I've used those guns a lot so this isn't just a one or two time deal, it's always. Does anyone else have this problem? And no I don't need "Just aim for the head" or "Stop shooting their toes" comments. It pisses me off to no end, to see someone kill me in minimal shots with the very same weapon I can't kill anyone with in under a reasonable amount of shots.

sometimes it hits the head first then the body so you get a body kill. it shows up at like 134 damage - 2 hits. happens to me allll the time.

are we talking cod4? Because if so...2 things....this is the COD4 forum...and secondly if you are in fact talking about COD4, how do you get your damage report?

Might as well throw a thirdly in there....This has happend to me numerous times...and Im sure it hasn't been the case you stated every single time.

Hey lobster, I used to be one of those people too, and I owned with is, especially because it's usefull up close. But recently I tried going back to the m16, and I LOVE IT! it's almost never more that a 2 burst to kill them, AND I HAVE DOUBLE TAP! So it's even shorter!

Personally, my favorite weapons are the M-14 (Which I haven't unlocked yet, just pick up when I get a chance), and the XM1014 shotgun.

The M4 is okay - I have the same issue where I need to empty half a magazine into someone to get them to drop, and then the other half to prevent getting killed with thier last stand perk.

I haven't used the P90 much, so I can't tell you about that one, although it seems to be a sub that gets kills by volume of fire instead of accuracy / damage.

The M4 will get decent kills at medium range with the red dot sight and some slow fire, but it has to be very well placed.

Overall, I agree with you Rock - I'm just not a fan of the 3 rnd burst on the M16, though it does seem to hit harder.

Oh - and I have a LOT OF FUN with the AK-74u and the doubletap perk.

I think there is something with the data rates in this game that can cause serious lag between when a shot is fired and when you receive your indication it's fired, which will leave you with wrong impressions of how many shots actually WERE fired.

The reason I think this is something I've been observing for a while which really pisses me off. Sometimes I'll be running fast through some cover and round a corner into a guys face who obviously has the drop on me. I'll stop running and start firing anyway, but it's pretty much over. Often I'll get 3-4 shots off before he drops me. HOWEVER, when I view the kill cam, I see his perspective, and it shows me running up and firing either no shots or just one or two (either way, siginficantly less than I heard on my end) before he drops me. Anybody else noticed this? Definitely something that I never would have noticed without the killcam, and something I'm not sure how to resolve.

I've been playing call of duty 4 on xbox360, and I don't understand how anyone does good with any of the weapons, all I can do anything close to being called "decent" with is pretty much only the P90
