Hey, I've decided to try this out and download it through steam, at the time I was too lazy to go to the store to buy the dvd for it (3am and it was damn cold outside) however I've learned since that I may be being punished for using steam :P I've been trying unsuccessfully for over a week to download cod4 on steam, the download starts... and aftter anywhere between 10 seconds to a minute or two my internet connection dies.. that's right it dies to where I have to unplug/plugin the cable modem, now I've downloaded other games on steam, and even tried one or two others with no issues... but cod4 is becoming a major irritation *grin* I'm asking for opinions here as well, I've heard about steam support's legendary support response time and figured that I would get some better ideas from the community here as to what's up... cable company has come by removed an unecessary splitter in the rats nest of cable crap outside of the apartment, which makes some channels come in clearer, and my ping seems to have improved slightly at that as well :P, all drivers/bios/etc are up to date as well btw

Heh, it's been paid for allright, it's just that my internet goes away to the point that I have to reboot and/or unplug/plugin the cablemodem to get it back when I start downloading it through steam, no other steam game behaves like this so I dunno *scratches head*

onboard card so to speak nvidia built into the mobo, linksys cable modem, and I've already made sure that all the items are up to date driver/etc wise(including making sure that the firewall is set to allow for ALL instances of steam use), I just don't get it... why would everything else in steam be able to download and not this one? One would think that all of them would not work... but the internet when it decides to be contrary is indeed puzzling no? *grumbles*
