I need to straighten this out

OK so it is (as far as i can tell) allowed to (in HQ) to sit back in a backup position while your team caps the point....am i correct? Because if i try to do that...many (mostly the enemy) call me a camper. So i explain to them that i am covering my team while they cap it.

It is in my opinion pointless to have 10 people capping it, just so all of you can die from a nade or rpg, tube or other explosives. However if you are in a position farther away and your team dies while capping it you can run in and try to cap it instead of staring at the respawn timer while the enemy takes the point.

It appears that everyone has a differant opinion about this but i would like to figure this out once in for all so i don't have to argue and explain myself all the time. See you guys around in the server.

You're good in the back position IFF you clear it with your team.

And even then, if you do clear it with the team, you shouldn't be doing it all the time. You should be on the objective more than covering it. Your team doesn't want to be throwing themselves at the point while the same guy racks up kills, even if he is covering them. does this make sense?

If ALL you do is sit back and camp the HQ, or any other objective, then you are violating the rules. If you sit back and pick off a few people, then move up to work with your team you are within the rules.

Just to be clear on this. You are correct. There's no point in having 6 people on top of an objective IE planting the bomb as an example. You don't want to be nade, or stray bullet fodder. However, move with your team at all times, use a mic even if it's to acknowledge which flag, or direction the team is heading. That way your team knows your are active. I personally don't talk a lot in the mic, however I do try to acknowledge team decisions, and move with the squad at all times. If you like sniping like me, you may also want to plan ahead for certain maps. Sniping should be reserved for specific mods of the game. IE Domination: Once your team has atleast 2 flags, build a fire, and roast marsh mallows. Most people are pretty brutal about this, even staying on top of spawn points when 2 flags have been captured. I personally see how frustrated I become when I'm spawn camped, so I don't return the favor. It's not how I think. However, that doesn't mean you can't control an area from a distance if you're going the sniper route. I hope I've been helpful. I'll see you on the server

Ther is a point in having 6 people on the point in HQ though. The more people you have on the HQ the faster you cap it. Who cares if you all die if you cap it it is better than the alternative. I hate it when I die three times on the same HQ and there are asshats all around the HQ not capping saying they are laying covering fire. BOOOOOOOOO! Go fail on another server.

weve taken HQ, and made it a science, and I can tell the the CRIES!! of camper some dont like it.

we are now setting a wide and wider perimeter and letting two or three guys take it.

when it says defend every one goes where ever they can to intercept incoming forces.

bis is right thou, we need to get on it. some people thou are scared of thier KD or what ever.

also like me you can use it as an excuse for your suckynessnesszorrzzz when your KD is all F'ed up you can say I was chasing the objective.

IMHO, if you're communicating with your team (and there are more than four on either side) and you can provide some cover then I think all is good. I've been saved a few times while capping by a guy providing cover. Also other times while being provided cover I got killed on the cap and the guy providing the cover took out the guy that got me then moved in and got the cap point. Pretty good tactic if you ask me.

Just don't be the guy providing cover all the time as you should switch it up and if you're communicating with your team then shouldn't be an issue.

My American .02 wishing it was Canadian .02 with today's economy :-O

what if they get killed B4 they cap it?

if you would have been on it might have been capped already.

some even take up postions in buildings across the objective, now some might say your helping, some might say your camping its really hard to say.
