CoD4 Problems
So I played CoD4 totally fine on my computer before I updated my mobo, video card, and RAM.
I used to have an MSI mobo, AGP ATI X1950PRO 512MB with Kingston HyperX RAM DDR2 800 clocked at 5-5-5-15
Now I have an ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe mobo, PCIx16 NVIDIA 8800GT 512MB with Crucial Ballistix Tracer RAM DDR2 800 clocked at 4-4-4-12
Since I updated with the better hardware, the game chops like no other in multiplayer. In single player, it plays just fine. I have updated PB, verified game files, defragmented game files, redownloaded the game (2x)... I've done EVERYTHING. I have even disabled my Anti-Virus before I play.
Why in the hell is my game so damn choppy? Like its totally not even playable.

You know Hub, I've been having the same problem with my rig too. I have the exact same card as you do (maybe not EVGA though, depends on what you have...)
Do you have 4 gigs of that RAM? I have DDR3 RAM is the only difference."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Alright, knowing that, the most likely culprit would be the video card itself. I find it highly unlikely that two identical cards are doing the same thing, as there must be hundreds of other COD4 players out there with this same card, but who knows?
It's not a drivers problem because I know that I updated my drivers, and that's pretty much common sense with you.
I may need some time to think this over or search the web for answers.
Edit: After a bit of searching, it seems HDR lighting or Dynamic Lighting can screw up your frames pretty good. Are your frames drops completely random? Like you'll be in a completely empty room running in one direction and it then just suddenly starts dropping?"In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Actually, the video card has a tiny bit too do with the problem. All the video card does is make the graphics process. I for 1 have the same exact video card on my other computer, and when i had it I could run it perfectly. Your problem is probably your processor. Usually when you get that much new stuff installed into your computer motherboard, your computer might need a recovery of the OS. If you could give me your hole entire system specs I could help you out more. Then again it could be anything, xFire for example, a lot of people's xFire's will make Starcraft glitch up. But if you could give me your hole system spec from your motherboard too your extra that would be great. And you might try updating your drivers..

Re: CoD4 Problems
Mobo - ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe
CPU - AMD Athlon 4800+ X2 AM2 @ 2.5GHz (OC'd @ 2.75)
Heatsink - Zalman 9700
RAM - (2 x 1GB) Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 800 4-4-4-12
GPU - EVGA 8800GT 512MB PCIx16
HD - 150GB Western Digital Raptor 10,000rpm
PSU - Apevia 600W
There is not a damn thing wrong with my system, it should run this game without a hitch. I am using the EXACT same CPU as I did when it was running fine.
AND all of my drivers are up-to-date. I'm not a noob.
