Tip for COD4 Noobs
Ok so I have heard this a lot over the mic lately.
"Is anyone on it?"
Damnit quit asking that the game has that built in!
If you are assaulting a point that is neutral it is white.  It will flash in and out white when you have a friendly player on the point DON'T NADE IT!
If you are assaulting an enemy point that is red.  It will flash in and out red when a friendly player is on the point DON'T NADE IT!
If you are defending a point that is green.  It will flash in and out green when an enemy player is on it.  NADE THE SHIT OUT OF IT!
You can also block a player from taking a point if you jump on it at the same time like in DOD.
Now I wouldn't care about a little extra communication but it clogs up the voice channel when you have people doing that every 5 seconds. Additionally most people throw a nade/tube before the person who is on it can respond due to the lag of voice communications.
Now I don't mind it when someone tells me they are "on it" because it is short and sweet and sometimes it takes a split seconds before the blinking starts.
This applies to HQ & Domination modes.

Ah, here's an addendum that you forgot.
If the point is neutral, and the enemy hops on it, IT WILL NOT FLASH. This is the most dangerous time. As you won't know if you have enemies on it, or if no one is on it. This usually ends with one guy rushing in and then getting mowed down by 5 guys. Then someone is bound to call out "they're on it!" Or the guy who got killed will call it."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

I will always call out if I am on it about a second before I get on it so that anyone throwing a nade has time to say something...it is the delay between no blinking and blinking that can kill you.
Also, if you are nading or tubing the point, it doesn't hurt to say so incase you have a teammate who is on the other side (which if you are all talking, you should know anyway).

OK, let me see if I've got this straight. I don't need to ask if anyone's on the objective if it's not blinking...unless someone is about to get on it....or unless there's a friendly and an enemy on it together... or unless it's during the split second before it starts blinking... or.....
Ummmm.......is anyone on it?"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

Actually, I almost always yell "On it" just before I'm actually on it, for the reasons previously stated. This is often followed by my demise just before I am really, truly on it.

I always call out that I'm on it as I'm getting on it just so people know that I am on it. If the enemy is on our flag and I'm not near It I will constantly ask if anyone can get to it and if not I start making a mad dash for it.
