Thread: L4D Hints and Tips

1) DO NOT use the health pack until your screen is black and white, and it says that you cannot live to have another revine.
2) STICK TOGETHER.  This one is pretty self explanatory
3) DO NOT HIT THE ALARM CARS!  These ALWAYS screw you up.
4)Conserve Ammo.  I know that it comes with a lot, but for the Uzi, it is a lot safer to fire 3 bullets into a zombies head then 15 bullets into his body.
5) ALWAYS AIM FOR HEADSHOTS.  This is also self-explanatory.
6) On the Roof, at the starting area, if you go over the the ledge that is facing the ally way, there is a Air Conditioner.  You can jump on it, and skip the entire building.
7) Only use Items WHEN NESSISARY!
8.) Cover ALL ANGLES.
9)Avoid the Witch at all cost's.  You can hear her crying from quite a distance.  Be sure to throw a Molotov at her to wake her up.
10) Player in front should crouch, so others can fire over them.
11) Using a Melee attack while reloading does not cancel the reload.
12) Always have someone watch the flank.
13) Turn your flashlights OFF as much as possiable.  It draws the Horde.
14) Close doors behind you, and shoot a hole through
15) If a Horde rushs you, and you have a automatic weapon, just blast at head level.
16) DO NOT RUN IN FRONT OF THE FRIENDLY IN FRONT!  This is common sense.
17) I don't think I stressed this enough.  DO NOT USE YOUR HEALTH PACK UNTIL YOUR SCREEN IS BLACK AND WHITE!!!!
18.) To kill a Tank, when he downs one of your teamates, which he WILL, no doubt about it, he will only attck that guy until he is dead.  This is a prime chance to kill him.  Run up as close as possiable and blast him to shreds.
19) Instead of killing the Hunter when he is on your team mate, run up the the Hunter, and melee him off. Then shoot him. It saves the team mate being attcaked valuable health.

Make sure the "Enable Devloper Console" is activated and hit "~"
Then type "openserverbrowser"

I like to add the servers to my favorites via steam. Once I ad them out of game, they are there waiting for me when i hop in. it's much easier than alt=tab-ing to get the ip or finding them through all the other servers.

in game it's options> keyboard> advanced. Just click "enable developer console" and hit tilde "`" to access it.

Go to options, then "keyboard". Look for "advanced" on the bottom, and click it. Should say "enable dev console"
