Nvidia Driver Update Causing Lag - Stuttering

I know I had this issue when I recently updated my nvidia drivers. The game would hang like I had a horrifically bad connection, checked my ping and was in the 20's. The solution was to roll-back my driver to the prior version.

Here is the culprit driver update:

GeForce Release 180 WHQL
Version: 180.48
Release Date: November 19, 2008

I know many have had the same issue.

I suspected this was the cause. My work around was to check off the multi-core support. Seems to be working fine now.

hmm I bought a new 9800 gtx and installed this driver the day i bought it, I have been having occasional pink screen lockups and stuttering at times. I was thinking it was my card, but it must be this drive. I have seen many threads with the same problem on different forums.

I recently updated the chipset driver on my motherboard and it resulted in having to reinstall vista but it worked the second time I updated the driver from the manufacturers sight with apparently the same patch even. Might be the same with some video cards.

I've had problems with these drivers as well. Although my problem was when i would boot into XP the screen would become all fuzzy and i couldnt use my computer. Had to boot into safe mode and reinstall old drivers to fix the problem.
