Lag Spikes

Hey I have been noticing lots of lag spikes lately in COD4. Dose anyone know why? I know i am not the only one feeling them because it keeps coming up in game, i am just bringing it to the forums.

Are these spikes happening on any other games and is anything begin done?

I could be wrong but I have heard it was due to the updates to one of the other servers.

The main server that we are having problems with is at a different IP, there for different location. I think the big problem right now is the PB update about a week ago. People are getting dropped all the time. Fucking PB. Manually update it if thats the case. As far as lag is concearned...try running a tracert and post it up in the issue, ideas and improvements section.

yep yep, might even want to reset your modem and(if you have one) router... before doing a tracert, just to be sure... :2

the lag spikes he's talking about isn't due to his connection. multiple people are experiencing them at the same time, and the in-game pings don't rise.

Yea im also getting lag spikes. My average ping in the server is 90-100 instead of 70-90. My fps went down by 20FPS because of it. Im able to play just not as well because of the low FPS now. I know its no my connection because ive already reset it 5 times in the past week because our service provider is a dick.

vito, the lag issues we are talking about don't have anything to do with your in-game ping. re-read my last posts.

i will have to watch my fps, but i'm sure if i'm experiencing a lag, and the game isn't moving, the fps aren't going to be either.

I've been experiencing the lag spikes less and less now. Usually they only happen about every 30 minutes in my case. Hope it slowly and/or quickly dies away.
