    Re: Thanks

That's my point. There are other options available besides TTP servers if you just want to play with friends.

When I see a TTP game going on, I'll join if there's a free spot. If they want me to leave, so be it, but chances are if it's versus and they are 5/8, then they'll want me to stay.
I won't make the mistake to force the server on TTP again for the nice ping since I'm not allowed to play with my friends.

    Re: Thanks

The point is you can play with your friends all you like. no one is saying you cant.

what we or rather let me say what I AM saying is that To kick a player from the server for any reason other then a rules violation is bull shit and is not in the spirit of TTP.

Everything that we all and including you like about TTP revolves around being TEAM PLAYERS.

No one treated you that way when you or any of us showed up on a TTP server if we did the servers and our forums would be empty.

play with your friends , invite them to games but if a non regular shows up give him the chance to show he is a team player and if he's not; then educate him on what were about at TTP if he or she still refuses to play up to par get rid of their ass.

This is ALL of our responsibility not just the admins! If someone can't or wont play up to those standards then they don't belong among us here at TTP.

Now you're acting like a scolded child. It doesn't become you.

You know god damn well what we are saying. But frankly, your reasons for kicking people off of TTP public property are selfish and inconsiderate. It's the fault of L4D really, for putting the votekick option in there to begin with.. and with 3 friends very easy to pass a vote. Not only does the selfish crap kick someone off of TTP property, it also temporarily (very temporarily) bans them from it.

Put it this way, New. You, by initiating a votekick because you're affraid of taking a chance on someone due to a "Me and my friends come before TTP, and if they don't like it, I just won't play there" attitude, cut yourself out of potentially finding a new friend to have fun playing L4D with.

It's a good damn thing the good folks who play PR didn't treat you like that, eh? Imagine if they constantly kicked you out of their squad because they didn't know you and had a "friend" they'd rather play with. Shunned you constantly because you weren't in the "in" crowd of elite "friends".. Where would you be now?

    Think about it.

I wouldn't expect this sort of view from someone with over a year being registered and playing at TTP.

People have already spelled out why it's wrong of you to kick players wanting to join the TTP server so I don't need to go overly in depth with that. If you want to take that the wrong way and take your ball to another court because people confronted you about it, that's your business.

Unless you are a reservist joining one of the games where we support reserve slots, you have no more stake in any of our servers than some other player that randomly joins in. Everyone deserves a chance to play here.

    Re: Thanks

I didn't say, "I KICK RANDOM PEOPLE TO LET MY FRIENDS IN!!!!"
    ffs.
I said, if I am playing WITH friends, and one DISCONNECTS, then I will make room.
I'm not saying I'm better than anyone, it's just SHIT fucking HAPPENS.
IFFFFF you were having a good time with a friend (or a pubber who you just made friends with) DC'd who tried to come back only to have it filled by /random#1 who just hit quick-match join game, well kick them in the balls for their power going out/losing connection.

    Geeze people.

I'm not saying I or my friends are better than anyone.

The only reason I'm so heated is because people are telling me if I start playing with my friends, and they disconnect, then I'm not allowed to get them back in. This is why I wish we could make a game friends only for a short amount of time (i.e. lock a squad in PR for a short time to see if that guy who you think just DC'd back in your squad.)

That is all... if you still think I'm being a punk/selfish/"scolded" (lol) child, well you're wrong. I'm simply proving a point.

If we're not allowed to choose who we play with, then do away with resident clans. I joined a clan because I liked the people in it. I'll make a pubber squad on PR any day any time. I love squad leading, but it's stressful when you have 3 douchebag squads in a row and only have 1 person sticking with you.

    Re: Thanks

Asking someone to leave is one thing starting a kick vote is another. even if they don't leave they should not be harassed nor a vote kick started against them unless they are violating the rules!

someone said it earlier that steam messed up giving the kick option to the player base. I agree 100%

I know I join a lot of versus game full of regs and more often then not am asked to leave because they are waiting on some one...I dont mind at all I understand where they and you are coming from and usually shorlty there after I get an invite from those same people because they do lose someone and they know I am on looking for a game. But If I just jumped in and was straight kicked I would be furious.

    Re: Thanks

Texan the point Imis is trying to make is exactly that....we don't just kick random people for no good reason...I've vote kicked a guy from TTP because he kept running off not staying together and was taking peoples medkits we all have a reason for a kick I'm sure....

I believe Imis was also saying that he would tell the person the reason before the kick, unlike what happened to cojiro.

in that case it is too bad an admin wasn't around to ban him for non-teamplay

Asking players as fellow players to leave to allow a friend back in who disco'd is acceptable but if they choose to stay and you throw up a vote kick with no other reason that becomes an issue.

Fellas, this is how the admins see it on the votekick issue:

Every connection could be our next regular, admin hell maybe our next...well a few down the line...high admin. We should not discriminate. TTP servers are PUBLIC not our private games. If someone loses their connection tough cookies. If they can get back in SWEET but if not, too bad. I will tell you this. If I am a non reg or even a reg like cojiro, and I get vote kicked when I join a server I'll be less likely to rejoin it in the future. Which is bad for TTP.

This isn't to make you all go play other servers but this is a reminder the TTP servers are public servers and who ever will join may join. The votekick is a tool that you are given and if abused it will be taken away aka end up in the banned forums. You are all responsible adults and young adults. If you can not be responsible on our servers you will not be allowed on them.

Abuse of this privilege should not be taken lightly by the admins.

IF there are any questions, post em here or PM me.
