    Re: Thanks

Listen kids, Left4dead is a FRIENDS GAME. This is why we have lobbys. To comment on why this thread was started, we kicked cojiro because frag got DCed and was trying to join back in. If you play l4d, u understand that we dont have time to wait for people to connect, then ask them to leave. The other player is trying to get back in.

Back to the lobby thing. If i start a lobby, I make it a FRIENDS only game, not a pub game. If you are not my friend, dont bother joining MY lobby. Now, if we decide to get into the TTP servers (there are 4 of them) then we are still doing our friends game. If you see someone leave and you just troll it until an open spot, that is rude. This isnt like CS where you wait for an open spot. You get 4 players on your team, and you will not win/enjoy the game unless you are playing with people that are like minded like yourself. I know us EvO guys have been practicing for l4d CAL lately.

If our practicing goes against TTP rules, (as in us wanting to play with friends not randmon pubs, but again, there are 4 servers.) Then we will gladly not use up any TTP servers. We enjoy playing on TTP cuz it is our home. But if a game is already in play, you shouldnt barge in then be pissed that you were kicked. Cuz you have no idea why the spot is open in the first place. Furthermore, wait to be invited to a game, especially if it is a friends game not a pub game.

Again, Iam ONLY talking about VS here, not coop.

    Re: Thanks

I don't see any way that makes it right.

While the LOBBY is friends-only and you can control who is there you have you choice to connect to TTP. Once you enter TTP you are under ITS rules, not the lobby, not the friends-only game, not the game itself, TTP's, and as you have said you know this.

I know you know that TTP does not make exceptions for clans wanting to practice. Why you still use such as an excuse I do not.

People have made perfect points that if we continually play with our friends and only our friends/clannies/whomever is important, then we lose what is TTP. There is no bros before hos *fistpalm*, someone joined before you got back in, damn it, oh well. Ask them to leave because you want to do something, ok, have fun, or, no, oh well...

We cannot assume people are idiots and not allow them to shine, jeez according to you some of those random people could have been better then me for all we knew. Even if they do suck, it's you right? Make them better, show them the TTP light.

Never should we kick-vote discriminately, never should we kick-vote for bros and get rid of the 'hoes', never should we kick-vote for any reason other than non-teamplay.

So a guy works well with the team. He follows the calls. He is the consummate teamplayer. You would kick him, Kraker?
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

    Re: Thanks

Let's spin this the other way: (HYPOTHETICAL)

Cojiro comes on, they don't votekick him immediately, they ask him to leave because they already had someone playing who got DC'd and Cojiro says, "No, I connected fair and square, I'm staying." They finish out the game. Nobody is particularly "happy" about it.

One of the people on comes in and makes a thread,

"I understand that you guys want to play L4D on TTPs servers, but today we had a good friends game going and one of our guys DC'd and was trying to get back in. He wasn't gone for long, but someone hopped in and filled his spot. We asked him if he'd leave since our buddy who got DC'd was already back and trying to get in the game. He told us no, that he could play wherever he wanted. How would you feel if we hopped in your friends game and when you asked us to leave we said, 'No, tough shit, deal with it.?'"

I think what both sides lacked in these instances is common courtesy, which is ultimately, one of the driving forces behind teamplay. Further, I think Cojiro lacked a little self-respect and had on-the-spot disdain for others, and rather than bring it up privately and gotten an answer which would've sufficed for him, he tried to turn this into a witch hunt.

I did not join YOUR lobby, I joined TTP's server.

I started up the game and waited for the community server thing to pop up and clicked on it, they were full. I pulled up my friends list and saw that 2 of my friends were on a server with 7/8 and it was a TTP server.

Oh lucky me, a server with some of my friends and a spot just opened ill jump in.

    the rest is history

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a merry Christmas. Bottom line is they didn't ask, they just straight up vote kicked him.

And Kraker, for someone who claims to be all TTP, that sure is a shitty attitude.

Then buy your own L4D server and password it so that only EVO can play on it. TTP's servers are not EVO's private playground. Frankly I'm a little annoyed at your implication that it is anything different.

What if a resident clan said "The CSS main server is going to be for us to practice for CAL, we'll votekick anyone else who joins"?

Are you joking? Frag seems to be the only one of you who is understanding that it should never, ever be bros before hoes.

Exactly. Is this really the attitude of EVO's L4D Team leader?

I already said I would have left if I was kindly asked, seeing as how I dont want to be where I am not wanted. If somebody wants to make a private game where nobody is allowed except certain people then you can make your own server off of your own box or not join a TTP server.

I see a friends only game through my friends list? oh well I joined because hey it was on my friends list that means some1 in there is my friend, right?

I have joined a dozen games that were friends only that TTP'ers started because they wanted to play with recognizable names that they knew would play by the rules.

yeah ok I stirred shit up, I had a shitty day and was pissed that I got kicked out of a server that had my friends on it. I was votekicked out of a ttp server for no reason, I guess I could have just put it in the problem player complaints thread where I really believe it should have gone.

    Re: Thanks

Unfortunately Pineapple however much I respect yall over at Evo, this is TTP servers not Evo servers. You have admins in the L4D core. Listen to them.

This is TTP property therefore under TTP law. TTP law is accept everyone. I've seen Bigdog post in many places even back when we first got these L4D servers that all TTP servers are to remain open to the public. Once someone starts limiting that, it is no longer TTP.

If you need a place to play friends only buy your own private server. If you need a place to do scrims buy your own server. Or hell, fire up a TTP Practice server put a password on it and you will never be bothered by TTP regs as long as it is private.

The fact that it was Corijo is just icing, your team was straight up rude to someone that you all know. W/o reason explained to him, he found himself vote kicked.

As I said before, abuse of the privileged granted to you (as in everyone) it will be taken away.

And as to the witch hunt. I didn't even think of Evo in honesty until Kraker followed by Frag and your replies. I think we should just drop the name of singling one person or clan out. This is a learning process and we all now know TTP's stance.

TTP's stance is these are public servers. Do not abuse the vote kick for DC'd friends or you will suffer the consequences
