"unhandled exception caught" error

My game keeps crashing, giving the error "unhandled exception caught". I've searched the web and tried a few things but nothing seems to work.

Things I tried..:
Manually updated PunkBuster
Changed CODWAW.EXE to run compatibility mode WinXPsp1
Changed audio to 24 bit 48000Hz
Deleted the 'Treyarch.bik' file
Deleted all files/folders under 'C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW \players'

Has anyone else seen this error? I haven't gotten it before tonight, basically the first time trying to play on TTP.

Steam?

I know some of the Steam customers had a bit of trouble with the new patch. All have fixed it though...not sure what they did.

If you have the dvd,I am asuming you dl'd and installed the new patch.....right?

Yes I am a steam user, so no DVD. Must be something with the patch because I was able to play on other servers before. I just tried another server (not TTP) and it crashed as well.

try dumping the blob file in steam and then run a check on the files. Sometimes steam jacks this up and it leads to weird stuff. also check all your drivers to insure the latest version.

Backup your profile. Delete local content for the game and re-download from Steam. That might fix it.

this has to do with your systems compatability (yes) to play bik files, mine cannot eaither,

you have to avoid the stupid bik movies these include (the start up logos) single player campaign scenes and i believe even that back ground in the main menu of sp and mp is a bik.

I had the same issue you are having but i solved it a while ago and i cannot remember the specifics of the solution, only that it had to do with those biks, i suggest moving them.

But first, exactly when does your game crash?

thanks for the suggestions, I will give them a try either later tonight or tomorrow.

my game crashes after i am connected to a server, between 5-60 secs.

thats odd, cause when ever I log out I get the unhandled exception caught error and I have to go to task manager to close it out. Quite annoying. But its only when I close the game so its not that bad.
