Death Aboard Map opinions.

Based on the popularity of the map I want to post this up here in the public so you guys can post your opinions of this custom map.

In Death Aboard you start out in a prison and work your way out to the nearest docks area. From here, you board a stranded ship and finally to an island where there will be a lighthouse as a finale.

Death Aboard is a great map that plays well upon L4D themes and fears of open spaces, clastraphobia, Sea sickness, and even the fear of height. With a disorienting 4th level on a ship turned slightly to the side and a very high lighthouse finale your heart will be pumping with every encounter.

I hope the guys that have downloaded it will share it with more TTPers by more Co-op run throughs and even VS.. All will enjoy it and many will have it be in Kanati8869's words:

My opinion as posted in the "other" thread.

Flat out loved Death Aboard. Could very easily become my favorite vs map.

This NEEDS to be installed on at least one of the TTP servers.

It was solid all the way through. There were even some surprises that I've not seen in the official maps (ala the alarm car in the cargo hold). It's difficult enough that twice we had all four players red with less than 50 health bonus when they went in the safe room. Yet not so difficult that as you learn the map you couldn't improve that pretty easily I think. There's some good spots for the survivors to at least get a breather... small confined spaces it would be hard to effectively attack them in.

And conversely there's some great spots for the special infected to do some MAJOR damage to the survivors.

Frankly... I was quite surprised to see something so polished this soon after the SDK was released.

Oh... I even enjoyed it despite having our angriest L4D player on my team... <cough cough Wraith cough>!

I enjoyed it immensely.

The only problem i had with it is that the maps can be a little to long.

and the lag, but thats cause we were doing it on local.

I would love to see this on the servers, so i can play it without Bad lag.

Wraith, just FYI, crawling is not a map variable. It was because of the person's local server we were on. We played in the other night, crawling did not work.
