07-26-09, 06:11 PM #1Slight Punkbuster Problem.
When I get in-game to AA3, and am connected to the server, it lets me stay for about 20-40 seconds, then kicks me because my PB is out of date. I just reinstalled and updated Punkbuster, manually.
Any ideas? Anyone else suffering from this?"In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Does trying again 5 times count as "try again"?
I should have mentioned that it happens every time I connect, but only after it verifies punkbuster. It's obviously a punkbuster client, problem, but apparently not one that reinstalling can help."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

I have the deploy client version, but the idea is still the same. I'll give that a try and get back to you on how it works. Thanks.
Update: It appears my Punkbuster is now busted. I sent in a support ticket to the PB staff. Hopefully they have an explanation."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Re: Slight Punkbuster Problem.
How is your PB busted? All you did was delete a file that will get recreated either through verifying the game(steam) or i believe by launching the game, if not just run pbsetup.exe. If that doesn't work then I would say you have a conflict somewhere. Maybe a firewall, anti virus, ghost/virtual drive or a simple virus/malware. Do not use any on screen display(osd) as PB does kick for that now. Fraps,EVGAs Precision,ATI Tools,Rivatuner,TeamSpeakOverlay and im sure many others can be read by PB as hacks as PB no longer allows osd. Also do not use driver 186.xx, they are not good for the UE. Use driver 182.xx or 190.xx. That is if you use a nVidia card, not sure about ATI.

Well now that is fucking strange...
PnkBstrB.exe and PnkBstrK.exe had disappeared from my 2142 and America's Army 3 folders. So really, there's nothing wrong with my Punkbuster. The two .exe's somehow were removed."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Well then why do my games NOT work when I DO NOT have the two files in, and they DO work when I DO?
I've already closed my ticket and the problem is solved, so I don't see any point in this thread anymore.
I only opened this thread because both 2142 and AA3 would kick me even though I had PnkBstrA, PnkBstrB and PnkBtrk working and a manually updated America's Army 3 and 2142."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Re: Slight Punkbuster Problem.
No one can really tell u why PB does or does not work except PB themselves, everyone in here that replied to you were simply trying to help you with your problem.
PB B and K are only installed or updated from the game that is running PB. They have nothing to do with pbsetup.

I'm glad you got it fixed but it may help others out in the future if you state how you found/fixed the problem instead of saying you find no point in this thread anymore.
