Usually invites and the ttp group also helps sometimes. If you see one of your friends in there message them to tell them you want into the game, but make sure they arnt already in-game because that will last for 2 hours.

and to frag, define friend? i have a lot of people on my fsteam friends list, just like almost none of them i know well

Friend is also a rarely used verb basically meaning to befriend but IMHO it has a new meaning in this day and age and that is to add to contact list and/or friend's list.
