Scavange Mode

I'll admit, I'm totally addicted to it. Maybe it's just that I've gotten two or three really good pubber teams who really used their mics and planned strats and everything but damn... I love this game mode. You can think and plan and act strategically and then the SI go and screw up your plans and you have to adapt and overcome. You have to be aware of how many cans you need, how far they are away from the cap point and in which order you should do them.

What are the rest of your thoughts on it?

it's a shit-ton better than survival which I won't play at all... And I've only played it once. But if I had my druthers I'd certainly play VS. But I wouldn't turn down a scavEnge mode game.

I have realy enjoyed it. A lot shorter than vs but tons of fun. Actually tied on a last round and it came down to time. Pretty exciting and I have been surprised at how many games in general that I have had fun with random pubbers. Maybe all the asshats haven't bought it yet.

Wraith and I took it up with some pubs the other night, we all had our share of failures and wins.

It was really close first we played swamp fever and it came down to both teams having 1 and the 3rd round to tell it all. We managed to hit the other team down before they got the last one, so that last round was a tie. The tiebreak was who did it in less time which was our team. :9

Then we went back to lobby and took it to dark carnival motels. Honestly, we got raped that map. We decided to best of 5, for 4 of the maps we lost, mostly close, but we did win one and in that one we got 15-count 'em 15. We were too slow at the end to get it to count. But I thought that win was enough to win, in spirit.

After that we went to the tie breaker in parish. It was, indeed, an amazing best of 5 match. After trying to go to different points and failing a few time we found out a good way to win: fake the other team. We set up to go to the 3 under the overpass but flew around the hedge and took it to the gazibo. Around the bathrooms and what-not. They won 1-2 we won 3. The best part was we took the lead by ending their last 2 rounds early, the 2nd to last we stopped them at 1, I believe. The last round the made the worst mistake they could possibly make... They went to the back area to get rid of those there... They ended up getting the biggest ass-whooping ever. Game ended with their last score being 0. That was a heated game, great fun, can't wait for more.

Best part about all this stuff is that it reminds me of those battlefield moments where you are just shouting through the mic to push through the end and give it your all. Perfect teamplay, constantly changing senerios, love it. I hope you guys love it to, but love it or not, I'll be the one shouting through the mic in brillent victory when we pour that last gas can.

Maybe its joining just pubbers, but I have yet to succeed the least bit in this game mode. The main problem is that I really like it, but getting spanked game in and game out is really hard. It just seems that any strat I conjure up on either side just fails miserably. I think its mainly because its just pubbers. I want to see a TTP scavenger mode.

ohhh yes, getting a group that works together :9 nice, its like versus but fast pace i really like it :9 count me inn if u decide to play a game sometime

It's fun watching the enemy team stack gas cans somewhere only to have a spitter show up and blow em all up. Takes a lot of teams a few losses to figure that bit out.

But, yeah, Scavenge is incredibly fun. Still think the Dead Center mall is about the best map.

I actually didn't learn that until someone in a pub versus game pointed it out.. kept telling the spiiter to spit on the cans they were throwing down.

I've yet to play a un-pub scavenger game, and so my view on it is skewed.. in other words, I hate it. I'll have to get into a game with teamplayers to give it a second opinion.

Amen. I was thinking of setting up a TTP team game of scavenge. Getting 3 others and then challenging a pub team using the 'team game'.

There would be an achievement in it if we won.
