Thread: L4D Tourney Announcement

Captains have been chosen.

We currently have 31 people signed up. This means that IF all 31 people show up and teams are chosen from 5 players (4 players with 1 player backup - backup player MAY be on another team) then we can field 8 full teams.

However... This is where things get tricky. If some of the non-confirmed players drop out, team selection also falls apart.

WE NEED PEOPLE TO NOW CONFIRM THAT ARE NOT YET CONFIRMED.

THIS ALSO MEANS PLAYERS MAY STILL SIGN UP!!! THERE ARE SOME CONSPICUOUS ABSENTEES THAT WOULD MAKE SOME INTERESTING TEAM MEMBERS!!!

TEAMS WILL BE PICKED PRIMARILY FROM THE CONFIRMED PLAYERS AND THEN FROM THE UNCONFIRMED THIS WEEKEND (SUNDAY MOST LIKELY).

PM's will be sent to unconfirmed players starting this evening in hopes of getting a confirmation out of them prior to team selection.

If players begin to drop prior to the match... we got problems. If we have to narrow the field, teams may need to be redrawn and captains relegated to team members. In that case, tr_enf, _burn_, Adretheon will be dropped as captains as they had the lowest amount of votes.

Team selection will happen in a private steam chat room by the captains themselves who will choose, in round-robin fashion based on votes accumulated during the captains vote, the first four players on their teams with the final round being to choose a single alternate in case of a no-show/drop prior to the matches.

I'm trying to hammer this out as I go with the potential problems possible, so bear with me as this comes together and cross your fingers and hope it don't go all pear-shaped at the end.

I'm definitely in - been getting all nostalgic for l4d lately.

If it is still the same weekend as the PR monthly match, I'll have to drop out. If it is some other weekend, then I'm in.

Sorry Wraith. If we push it off, it won't happen until after the new year. So currently it is still that weekend.

It IS being scheduled around the PR match though if that helps. I won't schedule any matches after a certain time so as to not overlap the PR match.

With 8 teams we are looking at 4 rounds of play. If that remains the same then we will play most of the afternoon of the 19th and have to conclude the matches on the 20th.
