When I played VS on TTP, I realized that I had to move fast, fast, fast, or else you'd get fucked up. In Expert, you don't need to move as fast, but you still need to know when to move, when to camp, and when to go slow. VS experience can help with that. However, playing too much co-op leads you to lax yourself against SI, and in VS you can't run around everywhere looking for shit because the SI will actually be effective at murdering you. Play too much VS, and you get lax on friendly fire (as I learn every time I quit VS for Co-Op). For new players, I'd recommend playing Expert Co-op first, definitely, because it's a very good thing to get paranoid about commons and where they come from.
I wouldn't recommend expert co-op for beginners. Play advanced to get some knowledge of the maps. Then run through a couple vs. rounds to understand where SI could spawn. Then run through a few expert camps if you want.

Big is just awesome like that.

Beginners will be fine, if not better off if they start on expert. Break em in quick, they learn it quick. I went straight into Expert, the other day me and I think it was Adre or someone else had the game on advanced by accident and I was breezing through it and went "Dude, wtf, everything is retardedly easy all of a sudden" and then we realized what difficulty it was on.

Mistook my comments, guys. I was implying "newbies should play campaign first, working up to complete them all on Expert" before starting to own in VS.

Definitely. Expert teaches you situational awareness. You'll be much better in VS once you have that.

Twasnt me. Haven't played advanced in about 3 months. I only play vs or expert, even when fucking around on my own I set it to expert(since its not nearly as much of a challenge as it used to be).

yeah, but you'll be overly "aware" and fear things a bit too much. In vs, it's no big deal to see a hoard coming from multiple directions and stand your ground and fight, whereas in coop...the smart money is getting your backs to a wall, reducing the field of fire, and focusing the hoard into confined spaces.

I think expert coop makes you a bit overly cautious...overly protective for items....hesitant to rock and roll. But certainly....a hell of a lot keener on little things like sounds, and directional audio cues, and timing.

So...you might be a little overly cautious. But....when the time comes to rock and roll, you'll likely be the last man standing, because you fight hard as shit, are fast as shit, and are ready. As shit.

Gold badge #1 down. moving onto passing survivor.

this is true for most games, since it forces you to learn the weapons, the nooks and crannies of the levels, and hold your own.

If you want to get stupid good, and stupid fast....play it on expert. It's like playing CSS. If you're slow and dumb, you're dead.

    Re: REAL DEAL

What? I have played primarily vs in 1 and 2, and often see people shoot, or get shot, through walls as SI. Saying people in co-op listen better for SI and hordes is like saying Ts listen better than CTs. If you are not listening and paying attention regardless of mode you just suck, plain and simple.
