    Screen obstruction

Just got this game today. Looks pretty good, but I'd like to know if there's a way to turn off the blood splatter on the screen. Maybe I'm just not used to it, but it seems really screen-obstructing. I hit more than a few AIs in my first run because I couldn't see enough to the sides.

Edit: Found out how to fix it. It results essentially mean playing the Australian version, but, well, better to be able to see things...

Yea, that's intentional, Valve doesn't make mistakes.

You'll get used to it, just look around a lil more.

Oh.. so then it's intentional that people can exploit through areas by walking on invisible barriers, glitch through a window at the start of The Passing and countless other mistakes? ...er I mean purposeful additions?

    Walker... <SMACK!!!>

I actually think turning off the blood spatter is more exploit than not. That blood spatter is there when using a melee weapon only and is there because it's up close and messy. Does said "mod" also turn off the other spatter? IE: the mudders splatter you with mud when you get hit by them making it difficult to see if you get hit more than once.

That splatter is there for a reason and should NOT be turned off. My two cents.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

No, the other screen obstructions are still there such as getting hit by a boomer.

I don't usually think this sort of thing, but it is pretty nice to be able to decapitate things with a guitar. I'm comparing gore on/off right now, mainly for performance value.

The window thing was weird, maybe they had thought about having rooms there at one time and then ran out of time and closed them up, kinda.

Oh and taking the spatter of is just as cheap as playing with subtitles...

Just unlock the sunglasses with windshield wipers on them. Problem solved.

Clearly they're exactly that, given how long they've been in the game, how well-known they are, and the fact that Valve still apparently doesn't care. Gotta get those new hats for TF2 out in time...
