Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
Yeah AND I'm experimenting with something that APPEARS to work more often than I would have thought even against people who are GOOD at punching the hunter over and over...
If you get punched and spin 180 and try to pounce AWAY from the person punching you, you can sometimes get away whereas trying to repounce (or pounce from a deadstop) won't work. If I can perfect THAT, someone is not gonna have a good day... blitz...

If you get the insta-pounce and pounce away, you are making more of a mistake (in my eyes) because then A: you go in and pounce again by yourself, making for an easy kill or me just praying you go for a high pounce so I can get a skeet for once... or B: you wait until your friends are back up, while you are at low HP and making for an easy kill, thus making a useless spawn. Either way... my days are always good.

Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
The problem with going for a shot all the time is with some guns it takes quite a few rounds to kill off the hunter. If you double-punch the hunter, it's crouch resets, giving you a second to pump it full of lead....and while you're doing that, it's also not doing damage to your team. It's all based on what's going on around you, which tactic you choose. If the person being hunted has relatively low health, you're going to want to punch it to get it off asap. If things are fairly calm around you (other than the hunter eating your friend), better to shoot the hunter.

Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
I always shoot off the hunter because it only takes me 1 shot to do it. It takes just as long to punch a hunter as it does to shoot it once in the head, and considering that the hunter is standing almost completely still there's no reason you should not get a headshot.

Re: L4D2 Terminology Guide
Unless you're reloading, or working with a lesser-powered weapon, or are horded and not assured of a headshot, or various other things I can't think of at this time lol. Having a rule completely black and white doesn't make a lot of sense, because it always comes down to context and circumstances.
