    Spitter dos and don'ts

    DO:

Combo with other SI. Most effective would be to spawn right where the charger spawns, same time, spit in the direction of the charge. Not only will the charger get a ton of damage, but the hunter and jockey can usually get someone else in the spit puddle as well.

Spit and get yourself killed by running in and clawing. Create a good second pool after you die.

    DON'T:

Artillery spit as soon as your spit is ready, hide, recharge, spit again as soon as your spit is ready (over and over again). You are wasting a valuable asset with your shitty arty spits that never do any damage.

Spit to block passages and/or slow down SV. I know this is a little controversial because there are a few exceptions, but that's just it, they're exceptions, they shouldn't happen every game, it should be a rare opportunity. I see this shit at least once a game when I play, way more times than it to be an exception. The smart SV team will just wait, watch each others back, and skip through unorganized SI attacks because the spitter is out of sync.

Hahahahaha. You know I love you enf, it was just the last straw for me after a series of games with arty spitters. Nothing personal.

Spitting to slow down a team is SOMETIMES good... MORE good though is spitting to split. Like I did at the bumper cars for instance. I spit PAST the first one in the closet and forced that one out the front... the other three stayed behind. One got hunted bad inside. If we'd had another up we might have gotten the person outside as well.

But don't put the blame on a bad spit all the time. It could just as likely be other SI screwing it up. Missing the charge, or the hunt, or whatever. Being a good spitter is split second spawning and if the SI you are supporting misses their hit then the spitter is suddenly irrelevant.

You are right for the most part though. A spitter that hits in the open by themselves deserves the zero points they get and should be berated by their team for being a n00b.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

Sadly people do not understand it, even when being told hopefully some people start to think about it. Body block, keep people in your puddle, combo with anything you can. DIE IF YOU SPAWN. And all that jazz.

BlitzKrieg: Just know that I love you.

Yea I've seen a lot of players lately missing their spit/smoke and then back tracking behind the SV. This is a no no. If you miss your hit just go in an scratch as many as you can. Waiting to recharge and trying to run up from behind rarely works. A good SV team will forget about you and get a lot of distance while you are trying to catch up. And by that time the charger and hunter will have to spawn to stop them and your spit or smoke will be useless.

Re: Bad spitters are my new pet peeve.

Only time I ever really hold onto a spitter is when our next hit is going to be in a chokepoint where we're going to want a spitter, because if I run in and die there's a good chance we won't get one since I'd be dead last. So when I get the spit with that first hit, I'll do it by spawning ahead, and as soon as the spits off run further ahead to a place I can spit on the choke from.

Other than that....sometimes it's just a survival instinct, but I usually manage to try and die off lol.

I know what instance you are talking about here, but that was more to do with Max moving way too far ahead of our team than it being a good spit. If Max wasn't so far ahead, we would have just waited outside by the bumper cars for it to go away, then went in to pop your spitter.

Edit Correction: I was thinking of an earlier game from the same day. In this instance, Max was being a laggard.

Re: Bad spitters are my new pet peeve.

Your spit and death pool will stack. You can pretty much incap an entire team if you were somehow able to get them all to stand in both pools.

Spitter should generally have the spit in the air BEFORE the pin happens. Alert teams will clear quickly and it's entirely possible that they might end up only taking 2-3 points of damage from the spit, even if you land it right on them (stupid grace period.)

Don't scratch someone being ridden by a Jockey. Just don't.

If you miss your spit, don't charge them and get gunned down - run away and re-ghost. If you waste time getting gunned down, your team will be out of synch. In fact, good SVs will know this and purposely avoid killing you for several seconds (shoving you away instead of simply shooting you, etc.)

Kill the spitter immediately during tanks. It's extremely unlikely she'll do any real good during a tank. You're much better killing her to try and get three pinners and a Boomer. Again, good SVs know this and will generally at least try to keep you alive as long as they can. Basically, run out and spit and immediately do everything you can to force them to kill you.
