I'd love to see the smoker replaced by another skill-based SI. As it is the smoker is the only SI that takes basically no skill to operate. You point in the general direction of a SV and click. The tongue automatically aims itself.
Maybe replace the smoker with a similar SI, except instead of just clicking at a target, you have to aim and predict SV movement to send out your "tongue." The tongue would go a set distance at a set speed, if it hit nothing it would immediately retract, if it touched any SV on it's route, they would be pulled back in.

Au contrair mon frere! If you can't pick a player out of a pack of them you aren't trying hard enough. More often that not I can pick a player out of the four of them even if he's ahead of a couple others. Obviously if there's one directly in the middle between us I can't. But I can hit my intended target with the tongue FAR more often than I can accurately pick someone with a charger.
Last night for instance I had one guy in no mercy that was orange and he was surrounded by greens (two in front of him and one behind). If your example held true I'd have just grabbed a random one, likely the green behind. But I snagged him and did it rather easily because I know where to target the tongue.
(yes I'm not feeling particularly artistic today.)
