    Should I bother coming back?

I remember a time when my internet source was stable... I could play with minimum fuss, and played many games of L4D2 and L4D. I recount endless amounts of laughter, shock, awe, encouragement and futility. The way the artist formally known as Blitz used to count down his attacks in his smooth calm voice, Thorsen with his bravado, and increasing skill/strategies, Walkers narked voice as he tries to whip his team into order, Kroms incessant push forward!, and Steggys "wait for me". Knee of Justice was a small fish, he was often told to can it and pay attention, Kanati would silently play until he had to yell at me for shopping, and talking of shopping the duo of Adre and Andy was like a weekend in newyork. People from all over played together, laughing and drinking, Flame once go SO drunk playing with us he used his cabinet above his toilet as a head rest, while Thorsen and I sang and played stairway to heaven. Ira showed up that evening and joined into one of the most manically drunk L4D games I have ever experienced. Bob came late to the scene, he was dragged from his beloved BF2 and hung around Thorsen eager to learn the simple yet effective attacks, defenses and other techniques that arguably has moulded todays TPG L4D2 games.

Stealthy would bug the shit out of me to play and more often than not we'd play a round of campaign or survival shooting the shit and not caring about deadlines. Silent would show up too occasionally midday and we'd end up forming a rare fun midday vs. Wraith was know for his rage, pizza and fragraptor for their undeniable thirst for the win. Buddy Lee was my true mentor of this game, back when my internet was bad but not so bad I couldn't play, he'd patiently teach me in L4D using his pure inhuman skills to keep me alive. I still remember Thorsen playing for the first time with him asking him if he was new... Buddy responded in a typical Buddy Lee fashion : I'm a n00b, then proceeded to pretty much single handedly win the game for us. My buddies Nana, Dark maggot, 9 Ball, Cojiro and Brokenape were always a blast, forever in a state of blissful goreyness as we cut swathes through Parish, DC or HR. Soltastic and I shared many amazing fun games with Ribberjack and Andy I don't I had laughed or have laughed as much as that since then...

Tenrou was late to the party as was BT, Frost, and some others I may forget to name. They still got the tail-end of the Max with ping. tCz boys are assholes and beat us everytime we went against them. I love them for that and hold all of them dear as some of my best games are played vs these monsters. Scrums natural skills make the game look easy, this coming from a relative newb to the family. Oni, Saw, Raush and Scrotum made professionals look weak and unmanly, while Smokens voice still echos in my mind as he blares orders like some feverish sea captain. Imis returned to L4D only to be frustrated by the people trying to teach him how to play (He had more xp at that point! ) and talking about experiences one of my fondest Survival games was Big, Thor, Texan and myself, desperately trying to fend off the hoard long enough for gold on the passing harbour. Fucking magnums and AK47s ftw. So many good people, so many good games, I am certain I left out really important names but I have reached my point, apologies if I didn't mention to you I'll probably have many good things to remember with you too...

The golden age of L4D2. People played together, they worried little about stacking, or etiquette or whats right or wrong in game, because we all carried the core LOVE for the zombie apocalypse. Playing together was our reward, sure we had some hard games where our asses were served, but you bet your ass we took it standing up fighting to the bitter end, trying to steal that micro victory of all getting into the chopper. People cared about the team, it mattered about leaving someone behind, I have seen people miss victory because they decided Stealthy shouldn't die like that, then they'd drag him 2 feet before getting massacred, but it didn't matter because they died laughing, crying and proud.

I was proud to tell people I played L4D2. I loved the fact that I could lobby up and see the potential enjoyment growing as each character entered the lobby. L4D2 players used to mean something. We were the apocalypse crew, we were a raggy ass crazy bunch who enjoyed getting pelted and returned the favour happily.

So I have been told Sept 8th I will be getting a new ISP. Potentially bringing me back to MP games. Imagine my horror when I wander into what has become the L4D2 forum. So much bullshit it makes me sick. Petty arguing, snide jibs and outright crazy-talk. I don't care how good you are or how good you think I am. I really think ranking players is a UNteam-like affair. L4D forums used to be quiet with the occasional "hehe look at this screenshot" it used to be allot quieter too (people were too busy playing the game I figure or a mentality shift has occurred throughout this once strong crew). Why should I bother returning. Maybe I should simply do the easy thing, and uninstall the game, hell I love BC2 they don't argue too much there they JUST PLAY. And dont for a second think I didnt come here to do anything but play.

Time to get together, stop arguing, stop bitching and play some L4D2. When (IF) I get online September 8th I am giving this community 1 week to buck up or I am un-installing this game. And you can find me on BC2.

max, if you uninstall, I will drive to canada my damn self and install it back on your computer! My favorite games were when you played, especially the drunk times. The drunk nights that you were so hammered from taking shots at every incap. You were on your fourth game and had already finished two bottles. You prayed that you would puke, prayed that others would pass out and not want to continue, but alas they fought the good fight. You pulled the one sober braincell you had into the game and fought for humanity! Yes, good times!

I am down for survival, coop, vs, mutation or whatever else those zombies can bring. Lets do it! Hell I might call into work for this!

If Max's internet is actually playable, we should have a planned drunk L4D2 match to celebrate.

This has been a recent development of the last 3 months. My opinion is that everyone just had to shake the crazy out of them, get it out of their system. I am actually very thankful all of it occurred on the forums and none of it poured into any game I played. I predict a return to the hay days of when I first started playing. It is great to see a post like this in the forums.
