Rig travel tips?
Any tips on how I should bring my rig in my car from Houston?
Front seat? Trunk? In a bag? Anything I might need to keep it cool? Maybe some sheets?

I went from Tampa to Dallas with a water cooled system and arrived with no leaks. I did have boot issues as one of my SATA cables got loose, but I fixed and it booted right up.

It has to be in the front seat. You MUST have your cars AC running at all times blowing onto the case to keep the components from baking into each other, considering how hot this summer is. The best way is to just take a sheet, tape it around the sides of the case, and tape another end directly over the AC vent for the passenger side.
Lean your car seat as far back as possible while still getting air blowing on it so the computer is as comfortable as possible. Trust me, you don't want your computer whining and trying to adjust itself every 5 minutes on the way to Dallas. And make sure it has a freshly downloaded batch of at least 100 gigs of porn for entertainment.
Make sure you disguise your computer so the cops cannot recognize it, because the RIAA most likely has a warrant out for your computers arrest. Hats work best.
Make sure the computers waste bin is empty before getting in the car. You don't want that crap tumbling around into your car and stinking it up.
Do not trust your computer if it says it wants to stop at a Dennys to eat. It WILL NOT end well.....for you, or your rig.
BBQ is your best bet for food.
If possible, you could get those eye blinder things that horses have and prevent your computer from seeing around your car and trying to backseat drive.
Make sure you have Steam fully updated before leaving. Trying to update while on the road will only make it very irritable and constantly ask "ARE WE THERE YET?!?"
Finally, make sure it knows of all the new friends he is about to make through a LAN connection in a giant hall. And give him a LAN knife and pepper spray, to defend against the nasty computers there.
AND MAKE SURE TO BUCKLE HIM IN! IN TEXAS IT IS CLICK-IT OR TICKET! Do you really want your computer to get you a ticket for it not being buckled in?

I just throw mine in between the backseat and the front passenger seat in the floorboard, and then buckle my monitor in, never had any problems!

i think dancing went a bit overboard. I generally do what abitar said and put it on the floor in the backseat and then place the front seat back against it so it doesnt rattle around. As long as you keep the car at a comfortable temp for yourself your comp should be fine. I dont know how long the drive from houston to QC is but I would agree with DC to avoid leaving it in the car while you go eat.
If you bring a monitor put it in the backseat, a towel covering the screen and screen face down onto the seat.

Coji, I really hope you got that that entire post of mine was a joke.....
On serious note, if you have your computer in the front seat or back seat or on floor, whatever, PUT A TOWEL OR SHEET OR BLANKET OVER IT so that it can't be seen. If someone can't see what it is, they will be less likely to break your windows and steal it.
