Comic Book Hero Captain America Dies
The Associated Press
NEW YORK - Captain America has undertaken his last mission â?? at least for now. The venerable superhero is killed in the issue of his namesake comic that hit stands Wednesday, the Daily News reported.
On the new edition's pages, a sniper shoots down the shield-wielding hero as he leaves a courthouse, according to the newspaper.
It ends a long run for the stars-and-stripes-wearing character, created in 1941 to incarnate patriotic feeling during World War II. Over the years, an estimated 210 million copies of "Captain America" comic books, published by New York-based Marvel Entertainment Inc., have been sold in a total of 75 countries.
But resurrections are not unknown in the world of comics, and Marvel Entertainment editor in chief Joe Quesada said a Captain America comeback wasn't impossible.
Still, the character's death came as a blow to co-creator Joe Simon.
"We really need him now," said Simon, 93, who worked with artist Jack Kirby to devise Captain America as a foe for Adolf Hitler.
According to the comic, the superhero was spawned when a scrawny arts student named Steve Rogers, ineligible for the army because of his poor health but eager to serve his country, agreed to a "Super Soldier Serum" injection. The substance made him a paragon of physical perfection, armed only with his shield, his strength, his smarts and a command of martial arts.
In the comic-book universe, death is not always final. But even if Captain America turns out to have met his end in print, he may not disappear entirely: Marvel has said it is developing a Captain America movie.

Comic Book Hero Captain America Dies
They'll bring him back. DC killed off Superman once too, only to bring him back later, which resulted in another surge of sales. It's a comic book tactic to try and regain an audience. In the case of Captain America, he really needs it.
If not, farewell Capitan America, one of my top 10 favorites.

Hey fellas I frequent your server almost every day, and never a problem... till today.
I was commander (engineer) for the US side on Dragon Valley, someone took out my UAV and Scan, so I do what most people would do to still be effective as a commander, I grabbed a fav drove over to the scan trailer and went back into commander mode while the trailer was repairing..... until one of the admins decided I wasn't doing my commander job and kicked me for not using teamwork and commanding. (On a side note at the very same time he/she kicked me the commander for the MEC team was kicked as well, for what I have no idea but he was quite unhappy about it as I was.)
I can understand kicking commanders who are flying and all the sitting in tanks and APC'S making the useless to the team, but to be kicked for utilizing the engineer kit to repair my assets seems to be a bit extreme seeing as how I was just in a FAV.
I did come back in and air my grievances..and got kicked again for some odd reason code (can't remember which one I think it was being obscene or something... which I wasn't, obnoxious yeah.. but not obscene ;) )
I was at fault for this kick I was still a little pissy, and didn't think to come to your website to voice my opinion... for that I apologize.
Anyhoo thanks for letting us post issues and stuff, now that I'm registered I'll probably stop by more often.

Re: Drax1970 5-27-2007
name of admin?
were you on the MIC or communicating with any squad leaders?
If you were, and you got kicked anyway......then we have an admin to punish. IF you were not communicating, like "I'm going to repair the UAV and radar trailers", or when questioned by an admin/squad leader as to what you were doing driving around you said nothing.....then it's your problem.

Re: Drax1970 5-27-2007
I was one of the admins on at the time and the one that that did this.
My side of the story as I saw it.
I had just logged on and noticed approximately 20-25 individuals not in a squad. I issued a few warnings to have every one join a squad or be kicked (my standard warning). After waiting a few minutes I believe I issued the warning again but I know I started to kick people soon after. I then looked at both commanders. One of which I saw as using a parachute and the other was in a FAV I think, but I know it was a vehicle. After watching it for a few minutes I looked at the K/D and other stats and made a judgement call that they were not performing there duties as a commander. I could not see how using a vehicle or being in a parachute would be supporting the team as the commander. I then issued a kick for both commanders for Non-Teamplay. I continued to kick many other players after a few more warnings. I also noticed a lot of complaints about team kills. Drax1970 rejoined as soon as he was able to and was a little short tempered and used some words that I felt deserved a kick for language. He rejoined yet again, at this point and time he was a bit more cool headed and asked where he could post his complaint for admin abuse. I informed him via server chat that the forums (here) are the place to do so.
After reading your side of the story I realize I was wrong, in my judgement call as he was trying to go to and repair his arty. I had not questioned your intentions nor did I give him the opportunity to explain his intentions and actions. For this I was wrong and I do apologize. Bottom line is I jumped the gun and for which I apologize.

Thanks for the responses BigDog and Wildsrv.
I know you admins have your hands full, and you are doing the best you all can to have a high quality server, which is hard with some of the knuckleheads that play this game.
Well, look forward to seeing you all in game soon.
