Boot/Kick

Hey guys,

First, nice server. It's one of the top few I look for when I go online for 2142.

At about 1215 am (est) on Monday, Aug 20, a guy named Scimitar Cat got kicked from the server for "not just commanding". That's the rule where you shouldn't be driving around in a vehicle and such if you are the commander. I happen to agree with that rule. He got the boot as commander with the reason being he was violating said rule, but I am on comms with him (for this and Mech 4) almost every day, and have been for a few years. My point is I know him. He says he was just on the titan commanding when he got the boot. I would tend to belive him, but I can't go back and look.

I don't know who booted him, but about 30 sec later, ATEXANANDHISGUN, or his version of that name, became commander. I can't blame TEXANANDGUN for the boot because I don't know if he did it, I just know he jumped in as commander.

Scim then did the wrong thing and got back in the server and Tk'd Texan...then he got banned...what a shock, eh?

I saw in the server chat that someone was reviewing the logs to see what happened, so I stopped complaining.

It bugged me a bit because it's a good server, but to see something like that, if true, it's lame (to kick someone just so you could be commander, without even asking him to resign, not the ban part...that's Scim's fault). We're generally the type of guys that will resign if someone wants commander that badly. Same thing for the gunship.

If you could look over what happened, I'll try to post here without making it a flame-fest to see if we can get him un-banned. If not, it's your server, and we'll find somewhere else to play.

Thanks for posting. The Admin that took action will be reviewing your comments and will address them if necessary.

As far as your friend getting unbanned, please have him report to "The Banned" forum and post according to the rules for consideration. I will say that he already starts out in a hole if he returned and Team Killed a player because he felt he was wronged by his kick. Players are NEVER authorized to take punitive actions into their own hands. TTP Admins are here to handle punishments and rules enforcement.

If you are saying that he returned and team killed the Commander thinking that he was the Admin that had just kicked him, that's even more egregious and will require quite a feat to explain why he should be unbanned.

I was actually happy to read this, since you seemed like a positive guy.

Nevermind the fact that you are speaking FOR your friend....which thus implies that your friend is too lazy, or too indifferent to take the time to register and plead his OWN case. It's insulting.....but I'll overlook that.

I can't overlook that.

The guy reconnects after being MERCIFULLY kicked (I personally ban inactive commanders. If they give a damn, they can come in here and get unbanned after we discuss the issue to prevent it from happening). Upon rejoining, he immediately seeks out his FRIENDLY COMMANDER, and in ANGER....TK's him??? You must be joking if you feel that was an unwarranted ban.

The second part is what gets me the most. You assume you know who the admins are, you then assume you know which admin dealt with your friend by kicking him from the commander spot, and then you insult us by assuming such a kick was done by an admin that "wanted to be the commander" bad enough to kick people for it.

That might be the kind of trash you're generally exposed to on other servers, so I can understand your assumptions.....but that doesn't make it right, or any less insulting.

ATEXAN is NOT an admin. Your entire assumption and justification for this abuse was based on that.....not only have you wasted our time, but you have insulted the integrity and discipline of our admins by assuming we treat our players like every other piece of shit ass, clan fag, nepotist run servers.

To preface your post with "great server, I love to play here"....and then finish with "your admins are abusive children that kick commanders so they can greedily take spots for themselves"......

honestly man, if that's how shit worked at TTP.....would we be the server you looked for to play at?

OK first off to all who read this I was told or asked to post here ...
Now Eagle to begin with you and your team did and were accusing Texanand hisgun for booting Scim " just to be commander" several times this was said. I believe your exact words were " That's messed up Tex you didn't have to boot him " To which Tex replied " I didn't boot him, It was empty so I took the spot. " Then one of your buddies or you not sure there {as I was playing not bitching.} replies that Tex had indeed booted him just to get the commander spot,... Now why did y'all just make that assumption ?? Then one of your boys initiated a kick on Tex; well we all know that didn't go over very well. So a few more lines of Bitching text went by and I had bout had enough so I put " Quit with the shit and play or be gone" for the simple reason the we are on here to play and have fun not constantly bitch whine and complain. If Scim came back on and purposely Teamkilled Tex well that is just asking for a kick/Ban. And the best part is you are asking for the Ban to be removed knowing that he did it on purpose, just because of "What he thought happened" Total Nonsense.

And on another note I also did not like that when you had a tank you would not move until one of your buddies was in it, I understand wanting a buddy in the armour with you but why sit there for minutes to wait on him when there is/are silo's to be won.

The ban was a temporary ban and he should be able to rejoin in the near future. The banning admin should be along sometime soon as well in order to explain. However, don't forget that people have real lives to deal with and it could take a little bit of time.

And it was 11:15PM server time, which is located in CST. So it was also 12:15 EST.

Not germaine to the thread of admin abuse, but being addressed anyway..... As far as not moving the tank until a squad member is in it. This has been established before as perfectly acceptable. Communication being key in this game, it is impossible for the driver to warn the gunner that there is an gunship at 3 o'clock or tell him to get out and throw mine bait. He may not have been very productive waiting on the his squad mate, but he is definitely still being a team player.

Any further discussion on vehicles/squads usage, open it in the correct forum.
