Thread: Admin question....

i was readong a banned post, and saw that someone said one of the admins was rude. i would have to agree because everytime i get on now, i feel like he is always yelling at me and telling me what to do. i understand if hes telling me to go long a, or yelling to move up, thats ALL understandable. but, i feel like he takes it too far. there are just simple common courtesies that should go on, ESPECIALLY if you are admin. i mean, there are obviously rules for the admins, so why does this one always seem to yell at me? NOT ONLY THAT, but when i or someone else asks him to calm down, he only gets more pissed saying, and i quote, "SHUT UP."

im not going to post his name, in fear of repercussions, so if you are an admin, and you want to know who i speak of, pm me and ask. i dont want to be abused more than i already am.

I am certainly guilty of yelling and getting madder when people tell me to calm down, my tone, and strategies are 100% necessary IMHO.

It continues to make me crazy that so many people dont use their mic's, dont rush with the team, and dont commuinicate......Most of the time I'd say we dont have time for commen courtesies, especially when we are trying to get the team organized, which is 100% of the cases thats that involve yelling that I know of.....any instance you have of an admin yelling not in order to get the team organized, please post em up....

I'd REALLY like to make a distinction here though......

It's not the admins that are yelling, it's certain individuals, like me, who have always yelled, and who have always tried to inject the MUCH needed team element into this game. My playstylye is to back up the leader, while shutting up and "rgr"ing the calls, or to be the leader and make the calls/decisions.....

I dont do this because I'm an admin, nor does bigdog, we do this because CS is a team game.......and yelling & using your mic is a fact of life.

What absolutely does escalate the situation is when a person comes back with a stfu comment or a "calm down" comment when what we are trying to do is fulfill the servers desire to be teamplayers. A stfu comment or a calm down comment ABSOLUTELY has nothing to do with teamplay!!!!

The person throwing the stfu could have said -rgr, or ok, or no lets try________________ but they dont.....99% of the time, they tell us to shut up, and are then deserving of punishment and abuse as they are not interested in adding to the server or being involved in team play.

I dont know any admin, especially a prominent one that has EVER thrown an insult first especially a quiet down/stfu comment. We might call people out for being bitches and not following the rush or sucking ass with a flash etc... but thats way different than railing someone for trying to get the team organized.

A non teamplay, camper/quiet attitude is sickness #1 in this game, and all it takes is a few people to set the example to say - "hey sjt17 right on", or "I'm with you" to make the disease disconnect, or quit.

Sickness #2 is the non mic using cool guy who plays a [size=18px]MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME[/size] like a DM from 1995.

Communication, teamwork and coordination are are vital to sucess and the "chill out dude" or "it's just a game" attitude isnt helpful to the team or welcome here. The reason we have 100% of our regulars is because they see this, they like it, and they understand teamwork is they key. They got tired of being picked on for using theur mics and, learned to be MUCH better players.....for every slay/ban/yell instance towards a CAL non mic using non teamplaying assmonkey, we usualy pick up 3 or 4 new regs....because we're not afraid to be sticklers for teamwork, and were not afraid to stand up to the two plagues I mention above.

preach! I too am guilty of yelling, only my mic doesnt work at the moment so the most i can do is hit the caps lock. In agreement with SJT's post, the admin is not the one yelling. It's the player. Admins are merely dearlers of judgement and moderators of conflict. When we yell its because we want our team to stop the bullshit, slow playing, awp spawn camping, and stragglers. Not because we want to flex our admin balls. It's just how things work here.

I also get heated in the game, and the number one reason is that people wont work together. Regulars understand the importance of team play, hince the name of the server. Newbs want a good leader to show them how to play, where to go not to die, and someone to run in front and kill the enemy, or get shot first.

IMHO an admin can say what they want(productive), as long as they are on the mic being a player, but if they pulled thier admin status into it, they would be wrong. Low mid or high, an admin is the judge, the law, but its not a reason to bust a non admin on the mic. Thats Fuc--- up, and im pretty sure you can get fired for that.

i yell at people too, all day long, we ALL do. and yelling isnt a bad thing. it gets/keeps people in line, it helps call out sites, ect ect... what i'm saying is more spiteful and mean than anything else.

for example: the other day i was on, dont remember what map or team, but my clan was on one team, then 2 out of 3 (im the third) moved to the other team (from ct to t or vice versa) and i hadnt noticed. so instead of making me aware of the change, or even asking me to switch, or hell, even switching me his damn self (which i know he can), he simply says "GREY, MOVE!" I knew he wasnt telling me to get out of his way because we were still at spawn.

i had no idea what he was talking about, so i asked. he just said "move" again. at this point i was freaking out because i didnt want him to kick me, again, for not listening. at which point tuna said, "Hey grey, come ct/t with your clan... we switched."

OH!....... OK!... thats what he meant. and i switched, pwned his ass, and got over it.


for real, i yell all the damn time, look i can do it now.. LOOK! I'M YELLING! Yelling yelling yelling!!.... :roll: yeah im an idiot.
