Thread: Admin abuse complaint

This will probably be a first (being in the unban and admin abuse forums at the same time). I am currently in the hole with what I consider to be an unfair ban. Here is the ban in question-> http://www.texasteamplayers.com/index.php?topic=62798.0

I wasn't aware that it was against the rules to say that saying you are going to pm someone about what you might consider poor admin conduct a threat. That is what I'm being charged with. I apologized for being hot headed to Saltspring but I was not aware that he was an admin at the time. He goes on to say that I have disrespected admins in the past but offers no examples of this. I have never dissed an admin while playing this game. Never!

If I had said to him "you're a piece of shit and I'm going to kick your ass", I'd understand. But speaking out loud and saying I'm going to pm someone about something cannot be considered a threat. How can it be?

And as for this being the first time someone is in both the unban and admin abuse forums... seriously? Have you never read either of those forums? It happens all the time.

How is that a threat to file a complaint? I made it clear I did not know he was an admin. He even says in the ban post that he told me he was not an admin. So how was I knowingly directing this at an admin?

I wasn't bitching at him to ban anyone. I asked if he was an admin and he said no. I went on to say that I'm going to pm bigdog that there was a lack of action. Now I don't think I'm special and I don't think I deserve special treatment. I was angry about the tk'er at the time and that translated into me being hotheaded when I was speaking to saltspring. I wasn't mad at him but just pissed in general. I apologized multiple time in the ban post for this but I did not threaten him directly. I did not know he was an admin. I know who some of the admins are but I was not aware he was an admin.

Concerning the accusation that I have disrespected other admins ingame, he offers no proof of this. This accusation is material to the ban and is a serious accusation. I stand by my statement that I have never disrespected a person I knew to be an admin in game.

How is filing a complaint,out in the open,in the proper way,the same as pm'ing someones boss? You say you did not know he was an admin,but you also say you were going to pm ...bigdog... because of "poor admin conduct". Which is it?

You also say that when you talked to Salt in-game,that you were tk'd. Salt went out of his way to check this out (he was Commanding at the time,and had to Alt-Tab out of his game,and leave his team waiting for him ),and found your version of the events to not be as you stated. What was he supposed to do?

You have been an admin before,you know how this stuff works,do you really think Salt was the only admin on at the time? Do you think the other admins might have seen your threat to Salt as disrespect to them as well?

Simple. I was going to pm for poor admin conduct b/c I was pissed off at the time and wanted justice. Upon retrospect it's stupid to think i could pm bigdog that I was tk'd and the world did not jump to my defense. I was pissed and I said something stupid...out loud. I was not directing this at anyone specifically. I've made it clear that I did not know Saltspring was an admin. He has made it clear that he told me he was not an admin. Why is this in doubt? If he told me this and at the time no action was taken immediately after I asked him if he was, why would I think he was an admin?

An honest mistake. I was tk'd after the initial attempt. I realize my version was not quite correct as I had forgotten the exact sequence of events. That doesn't change the fact that I didn't know he was an admin.

There was no threat to see as it was said verbally. I was angry at the time and I wanted justice, have you ever felt that way ingame before? It blows over and you forget about it and move on. In fact I had totally forgotten about until Saltspring brought it up. But to call pm'ing someone a threat is wrong.

It is absolutely a threat, you are implying that the admins are deliberately ignoring your requests for help and that they should get into trouble.

And if you had looked at the unban post I state specifically that I don't think I'm special and that I said it in the heat of the moment. Yes it was a stupid thing to say but let's not try to twist this into a 'you think you're soooo special'. I clearly stated that I don't think that. Actually it's quite laughable to think that bigdog would respond, that's how un-special I consider myself to be.
