    kicked

I just got kicked by Admin decision because I was flying the MIG and not in a squad. While I totally agree with the rule in principle, this was a stupid enforcement of the rule.

You would not have kicked me had I been sniping, or lone wolf and capping flags. Please, enlighten me, how many people were kicked tonight for sitting all alone sniping on a mountain top? Therefore, I can only assume I was kicked so someone could have the MIG.

And don't tell me I was being a team player. I was supporting the team! I was shadowing the SU and while I was flying it was not shot down. Twice I chased off the F-18 and shot down the F-15 once. In fact, on take-off, I immediately pulled a hard 360 and fell in behind the SU! How many other players do you know who would have done that?

Everyone knows there is no more useless a squad leader than a pilot. If anything, I should have been invited to a squad, specifically the SU squad. Kicking me was completely counter productive, especially since a simple "suggestion" would have sufficed. Kicking me in the first two minutes was a stupid decision.

Yes, I'm angry. I "get" the rule. But the rule is supposed to enhance team play. Kicking me only served to swap out the pilot.

Now excuse me while I rejoin the fight.

    Re: kicked

I'm not a BF2 admin but I can sure figure out EASILY that kicking you for not being in a squad helped the team by allowing someone who will be able to listen to other people in a squad will grab the jet. They will point out key targets, help out that squad, and do other things at the same time as his ability allows him.

Hell you could have at least started a jet squad. The team does not need you if you can't listen to them. The team does not need you if all you do is run around in a jet killing junk randomly. The team needs you if you help people. The team needs to so the commander can focus the jets around areas, tell them to help. There are many ways squads help flying.

Your ignorance is shining bright.... I am the one that kicked you and I kicked about 12 of you and even the lonely ol sniper that was unsquaded. So no, I didn't single you out, because you were in a jet, nor am I impressed with your story of what you say you did while in the jet.

This is a TeamPlay server and you will be in a SQUAD, or you will be removed, whether you are in a jet, or twiddling your thumbs, so lose your attitude.

Follow the rules of the server and you will have a much better time here. Don't follow the rules and your time is going to be pretty rough going.

    Wow. You sure showed me.
After attempting to get in for nearly an hour (because it's constantly full) I finally manage to sneak in and GASP! there's at least 6 people not in a squad, and that's just this team.
Now, I'm not saying you ain't doing your job.... but, server never empty, people not in squad.... seems suspicous....

call it what you want, but i think this forum is appropriately labled.

    Hey, I'm just saying....

Gosh, we must really be doing something wrong, what with our server full and people willing to wait over an hour for a chance to play.

Since the round changed at 7:45, and you posted this at 7:50, that's about 5 minutes into the round, which exactly how long I give people to squad up before beginning to remove them.

    Funny that.

    I'm just saying....

It doesn't matter if the server is full or if it is 2v2. You join a squad, or you get kicked. It's the rules... It may seem bad now, but they are in place for a reason. The admins have heard every arguement against the rules multiple times... but they are still in place, and the admins still are admin-ing making TTP the best damn gamer community there is, bar none.

There is no admin abuse here, there is just ignorance. A kick IS a warning. A ban is not. If you were unable to reconnect because of it... think of it as your punishment. Read up the rules, read some articles, become a teamplayer. That means joining a squad (or creating one) and following orders. This isn't your random pub. This is TTP. Step up to TTP's expectations or step out.

    Re: kicked

I'm thinking someone is crying because they had to wait at the hangar for the jet to become available. Funny part is I don't see those other guys in here bitching about being kicked. I've done my fair share of cleaning house to get people with the program or off the server. No matter the rank, the score, or vehicle. If you can't figure out how to squad up then that is your problem, the only time it would not be your problem would be if there was a squad bug issue on the server. So, the big question I have for you is.

When you rejoined the server did you immediately join a squad, ask what kit the squad leader needed, & then proceed to spawn on green to help out your team? Or did you immediately proceed to the nearest hangar to wait around for an air asset to become available? I know what it's like to join a server where people can't seem to read the damned MOTD or the Rules, but expect to be treated with kid gloves. Well, we aren't here to keep the jet warm for your return to the server. It always amazes me how players think they have to be invited to a squad.

I've been wondering about something from the moment you posted your little stuff about how someone needed to invite you to a squad. Why would anyone need to invite you to a squad? Did you see if any squads were open? Did you see if any were not full and locked? Did you even look at the squad screen or did you just go direct to the weapon screen and then spawn? A player with your amount of time in game, with such an awesome amount of lonewolf time, how come you couldn't join a squad? What kept you from clicking any open available squad? And then asking the squad leader what they needed?

That's my point. I don't believe enough time was given. I spawned right next to the MIG as the game began, so I took it. Personally, I believe that the ideal situation is to have both planes in one squad, the fighter to cover the bomber. I think you will get maximum usage of the bombing power of the planes if the fighter covers the bomber. We went out, shot up a plane, I made one reload pass, and whamo - kicked. While performing those duties, I didn't have time to find the bomber squad and join up. Not that I wouldn't have, I just needed to reload and find a moment to do it. Since that will never be proven, that's neither here nor there. But I think the stats speak for themselves. If you knew me, and I suspect there's plenty here who would vouch for me, I am a squad player. Always have been. I have 3600 hours of play time. Only 140 hours playing lone wolf. That's only 4% of total time played.

Secondly, I'm not complaining about the rule. The rule is an excellent idea. There is no need to lecture me regarding the rules. My frustration is simple: I believe the judgement against me was made too fast. I just needed more time. And, no, I'm not an air whore. During my total career, I've spent a whopping 57 hours in a plane. That's less than 2% total time played.

If you don't want to hear gripes about your game calls, then delete the forum. If there is no recourse for those that believe they have been abused, then delete the forum. Either way, I'm done mentally masturbating this with you guys. I feel I've been wronged and it's plainly obvious from your responses this forum is just here for you to get your trolling jollies.

I'll be sure to jump in a squad lickety-split from here on out.
    Good day.

    Re: kicked

    Whoa.........Easy there Ghost Rider.......

When I jump in a jet at the beginning of a round,I am able to be in a squad by the time the jet leaves the runway. Start one of your own,or jump in one that has already been started. It is as easy as that, and takes no more than 5 seconds. The intel you get from the CO via the squadleader is not only in your best interest, but the teams. Not to mention,it takes longer for the admins to kick you than it takes you to join a squad. To say that the "judgment came too fast",is asinine at best.

As for deleting this forum.....I don't think so. What makes you think we don't want to hear gripes? We always want our players to be able to come in and cry foul when they feel they have been wronged. Sure....many times there will be disagreements on what warrants abuse, but every claim in this forum is taken VERY seriously. Our admins are held to an even higher standard than our players, and are not only scrutinized by the entire community, but their fellow admins as well.

Bottom line is join a squad at the beginning of the round. Follow our rules. The rules, and their enforcement are the reason the server is full night after night after night. If you feel you have been wronged....post your gripe up here. This forum can be a learning experience for both admins and players...it helps get us all on the same page.

As for waiting an hour to get on the server....there are ways around that. Best $5 you will spend all month.
